CUIDAR, in partnership with the Social Responsibility department, hosted a roundtable discussion on Pink October (a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of breast cancer prevention and early diagnosis). The event took place in the Main Hall of the Flamengo Regatta Club on Tuesday evening and featured lectures by healthcare professionals. In addition to athletes and staff from Mais Querido, Delano Franco, Vice President of Olympic Sports, and Marcelo Vido, Director, were also present.

"It was an event conceived by the Social Responsibility department and supported by CUIDAR, to which we invited nationally renowned physicians, such as Dr. Thadeu Provenza, from the Mamamiga Project, Dr. Marcelo Bello and Dr. Anke Bergmann, director and scientific coordinator of INCA, and Dr. Ana Cláudia Rodrigues, from the Hermes Pardini Laboratory. All are specialists in radiology and mastology. They spoke about Pink October, an important topic of general interest, and addressed early diagnosis and treatment. The event was very important for Flamengo, as the club has many women working in sports," said Claudio Cardone, CUIDAR's medical coordinator.

"Events like this, which bring together doctors, INCA, and such renowned institutions in the field, are crucial for raising awareness about breast cancer. Parallel to the government's role in controlling the disease, it is our role to contribute to the message of prevention and self-care to combat the stigma of cancer, which, it's worth noting, is curable, especially when diagnosed early," said Camila Nascimento, Social Responsibility Manager.
