CUIDAR's physical space in Gávea celebrated its first anniversary on October 22.10nd. CUIDAR (Unified Center for Information and Development of Performance Athletes) is increasingly present in the performance of the club's athletes. With increasingly comprehensive and accurate assessments and analyses, the athletes of the Most Beloved team are reaching the highest levels to defend the Sacred Mantle in the best possible way.

Isabel Miranda, Flamengo's Sports Science Manager, spoke about the date and what this step represents.

"When CUIDAR opened on October 22, 2016, it was already a milestone for Flamengo, with the officialization of a program that supported coaches' decisions. The team that is part of this program aims to work with scientific consultancy, supporting and even determining the best path for coaches to take. In this first year, many improvements were made to the training and development process of athletes. When I look at this new facility, I see that we have a structure to work in a more organized manner. The CUIDAR building has unified the work we do to prevent injuries, and it is a great satisfaction," the manager emphasized.

Izabel also continued by talking about the benefits that CUIDAR generates for the club, such as the partnership with the American Olympic Committee.

"This structure is not only celebrating its first year of existence, but also 365 days of feeling that we are doing our job correctly and achieving our initial goals. We have a long way to go, but we are confident in our training control, and judging by the athletes' results, we are already achieving significant benefits. We held training meetings with the school for parents and athletes, and we also took advantage of our partnership with the American Olympic Committee. We are going on the 28th with another team of eight professionals from the CUIDAR team for benchmarking, aiming to identify best practices and what we need to learn. It is a great honor for all of us."

Following the interview for the Official Website, the manager highlighted the importance of achieving a result beyond what was previously measured.

"In this first year, we managed to achieve all of our proposed activities, and our goals were met. Some achieved more than we expected. I think that in terms of athlete support, this unification of CUIDAR ended up providing greater support to coaches, and the feedback was very positive. Today, they have a place to be here, use the computer, a time for discussion. All the resources and data we provide are being effective for them. We met many demands, but due to the high demand, we're on the right track. We have a long way to go, as it's a long-term program," he said. He concluded by looking ahead to the next year of CUIDAR.

"By next year, we want to have a definition of some concepts regarding injuries and care, a better structure of professionals and start measuring the athlete's availability to train and compete," he concluded.
