With a view to resuming training for the Tokyo Olympic Games, postponed until next year, the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) invited physiotherapist José Maria de Sá to join the Brazilian team that served on Mission Europe, providing all necessary support to Brazilian athletes in various Olympic sports. The Flamengo athlete, who is now part of the CUIDAR physiotherapy team at Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, spent 18 days in Portugal and had the opportunity to exchange enriching experiences with other professionals who accompanied the mission.

On Mengão's Official Website, Zé Maria spoke a little about this work developed in Europe in partnership with the COB.

"I believe we can't do anything alone. Therefore, being with Team Brazil today is the result of all the work done alongside my CUIDAR team. In our tireless pursuit of growth and learning new things every day, our work is guided and led by several professionals and generally yields satisfactory results for our athletes," the physiotherapist continued.

"During the Europe Mission, I was based in Rio Maior and provided assistance and support to the athletics (racewalking), triathlon, paratriathlon, and women's rugby teams. I thank Team Brazil for inviting me, for their trust in my work, for their warm welcome, and for the positive relationship among those involved in this experience," he concluded.

The work developed in the COB's Europe Mission, which has already been carried out by CUIDAR in a more in-depth manner, with excellent multidisciplinary integration, aims to obtain more detailed information from athletes, with the objective of monitoring their performance, always striving for high performance.
