Uri Geller earned his nickname for his ability to confound opponents with his dazzling dribbles, a reference to the Israeli illusionist of the same name, who gained fame in the 1970s for bending silverware "with the power of thought." Considered by many to be the best left winger in Flamengo's history, Júlio Cesar da Silva Gurjol was born on March 03, 1956, in Rio, and has the Flamengo crest tattooed on his skin.

In five years, or 133 games, defending the Sacred Mantle, his most notable performance for the club was the historic 2-1 victory over Barcelona for the 1979 Ramón de Carranza Trophy, when he scored one of the red-and-black goals. Uri Geller had two spells at Flamengo. From 1975 to 1977, the winger didn't win any titles. Upon his return, during the Zico Era, when he stayed with the club from 1979 to 1981, Júlio won a series of trophies. In addition to winning the first Brazilian Championship for the "Mais Querido" (Most Beloved), in 1980, the player won all three rounds and the special edition of the Campeonato Carioca (1979), the Taça Guanabara (1979 and 1980), the Ramón de Carranza Trophy (1979 and 1980), and the Torneio Cidade de Santander (1980).

Today, Júlio Cesar, known as Julinho, works at Gávea, and alongside another national idol, Adílio, he is one of those responsible for the club's Social Responsibility.
