Two social actions led by Flamengo worked in an integrated manner, and benefited twice as much as 50 needy children from the NGO Aldeias Infantis SOS Brasil and the Mangueira community, on the afternoon of this Wednesday (19), in Gávea. With the illustrious presence of striker Felipe Vizeu and the eternal stars of the Masters team of the red-black football, the first joint effort of the "Óculos do Bem" project and the donation of equipment and uniforms to one of the official centers of Flamengo's football school set the tone for the lively day at the headquarters of the Most Beloved.

Upon arriving at the club, the children were greeted on the pitch at Gávea Stadium by longtime Masters soccer legends Adílio and Julio Cesar Uri Geller. They played a lively game of soccer with the children, unfazed by the blazing Rio de Janeiro summer sun. After the game, alongside striker Felipe Vizeu, they donated uniforms and equipment, including balls, socks, caps, shin guards, and towels, to Flamengo's official soccer school in the Mangueira community.

"Having the opportunity to participate in an event like this is incredibly valuable to me. Like Adílio, I came from a disadvantaged community and faced many hardships in life before football saved me. Therefore, any ray of hope we can give these children is extremely valuable and important," said Uri Geller. "It's a huge honor to be here, to connect with these special children, and to participate in another social initiative organized by Flamengo. I feel very happy and fulfilled with days like today," added forward Felipe Vizeu.

Implemented in partnership with the Brazilian brand GIV.ON, the "Óculos do Bem" project has the innovative proposal of donating a pair of prescription glasses to a child in need for each unit sold. Driven by the success of Flamengo's sunglasses sales, the first donation drive took place this afternoon in Gávea. A clinic set up inside the project's special bus was brought to the club, and after being seen by medical professionals, children diagnosed with some type of visual impairment were immediately fitted with prescription glasses specifically tailored to their needs.

"The central idea of our project is to offer people who wouldn't otherwise have access to eye exams the confidence to know whether they have perfect vision. Around 2,5 million people in Brazil need glasses and don't even know it. Having Flamengo as a partner of Óculos do Bem is a source of pride and an honor. This partnership was launched two months ago, shortly after the end of the Olympic Games, and with the success of sales, we're already able to carry out this first screening and donation drive today. This partnership is an example of how Flamengo increasingly cares about society and seeks to make a positive impact on people's lives," said André Povoleri Caiaffa, project leader. The glasses, which are made in Brazil and have a high quality standard, can be purchased at official stores and on the Flamengo website.
