Eduardo Bandeira de Mello's feelings this New Year's Eve will be very different from any he has experienced throughout his 59 years. The new leader of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo will have his first New Year's Eve as president of the most beloved club in Brazil. And knowing the challenge that the new year holds for him, he expects to feel a lot of emotion when the fireworks go off and promises to work diligently in the next three years to take Flamengo to new heights.

"New Year's Eve will be exciting because I know that 2013 will bring me a new challenge, as will 2014 and 2015. And I have to be prepared for that. Really, when the year turned from 2011 to 2012, I never imagined this would happen. But it's the reality. Flamengo is my passion and you can be sure that I will give my all to do a good job," says the new president.

Eduardo Bandeira de Mello took office to replace Patricia Amorim on December 27th and will officially begin his work on January 2nd.
