After just over three months occupying prime real estate on Flamengo's uniform, the club's official website address will be removed from the shirt for this Brasileirão, starting with next Saturday's match (May 21.05st) against Avaí. The move, carried out by the club since February 6th, when Ronaldinho scored his first goal in the shirt, was more than positive and increased the website's already good numbers.

The average number of unique visitors to the official website increased by 42% after the brand was displayed on the team's jersey, and the number of page views (the number of pages visited by users) increased by 48%. Furthermore, the time each user spent on the red-and-black page increased by 30 seconds.

"Having Flamengo's official website remain in the most prominent space on our jersey has been very positive. We've seen a significant increase in traffic in a short period of time, and with that, we've been able to promote many of our campaigns, such as "Rubro-negro para sempre" (The Red-Black Forever), "tijolinhos" (Little Bricks), events related to the Flamengo Museum, etc. Furthermore, every user who visits our page has seen that we do a very good job covering all of the club's sports. Fans who visit the website are kept up to date with everything that happens at Flamengo, which isn't just about football. This is very important for all of us, as we work hard to make the club better every day," said Henrique Brandão, Flamengo's vice president of marketing.

If the 2011 average number of visitors remains, the official website will reach impressive numbers. Unique visitors are expected to increase by seven million and page views by 20 million, compared to 2010 figures.

"We know our growth potential is still very high. We expect to achieve even better numbers than our 2011 average. But if this scenario continues, we'll already be able to grow significantly. With more and more services, we hope to bring our fans closer to the club through the official website. It's worth noting that all our official communications are now made through this channel. This gives the club's website great credibility and importance," analyzed the vice president of marketing.

More countries
While Flamengo's official website was visited in 187 countries in 2010, that number has increased this year. To date, users from 202 different countries have visited the Flamengo website, from 10.613 cities.

Facebook
Renowned for its strength in the stands across Brazil, the Nação, as Flamengo's fans are known, also demonstrates its presence online. In just over two months since its launch, the club's Facebook page has already surpassed 500 fans. This number has been growing rapidly and, according to Social Bakers, the most famous social media analyst, it reaches around 30 new fans per week.
