Members enjoy the pools at the clubhouse to cool off from the heat

With the heat scorching hot, the Gávea pools are busier than ever. This Thursday, many people took advantage of the shade to escape the merciless 4:30 p.m. sun.
This is the case with Josefina Simonin. The retiree, who became a member of the club again about a month ago, was relaxing on a lounge chair when she answered the official website's report. "I was at home and said, 'I'm going to Flamengo, sit by the pool for a bit, and cool off.' There's nothing better," she exclaimed.
Michael Caheh, 36, has been coming to the club since he was just two years old. He never missed a chance to enjoy an afternoon at the pool. "It's a good place to relax," he said, alongside his wife, Aline, and daughter, Hannah.

Another recent member, Rosane, mother of little Miguel, just 11 months old, enjoyed the shade while he played. "I live in Leme, a block from the beach, but it's better for him here because there's no sand, the shade is bigger, and I can relax."
A tranquility guaranteed by pool keepers like Robson Fagundes, who has been with Flamengo for seven years. "Normally, during January and February, the crowds are higher because parents take their vacations with their children," he explained.
