The Arena da Gávea has definitively put Flamengo on the sand sports circuit. The permanent structure was built in a space that previously served only as a 'storage' for rubble and is now used for the benefit of sports. In July and August, three major competitions will be held there, one of which is already underway. Meanwhile, there will be a break for the 'official baptism.' The venue will be named after Maestro Junior, the player who has worn the sacred mantle the most times in history.

The first Brazilian Women's Beach Soccer Cup has been taking place since the seventh of this month. The final of the competition is scheduled for this Sunday (July 15.07). Next up will be the Men's Beach Soccer Super Cup, which will be held between July 17th and 22nd.

Meanwhile, on the 21st, a friendly match will be held between friends of the idol Junior, for the 'official inauguration' of the Arena Maestro Junior, the name that will be displayed on the Arena da Gávea from this date onwards.

Beach Tennis
In August, on the 11th and 12th, the first Fla Open Beach Tennis Championships will be held. Men's and women's competitions will be held in four categories, from professional to beginner.

To ensure everything goes according to plan, four courts will be set up inside the Arena da Gávea and the games are scheduled to take place from 8 am to 17 pm on the 11th and from 8 am to 13 pm on Sunday.
