Flamengo remains hopeful of winning the Guanabara Junior Cup title. Despite losing the classic match this Saturday (March 27.03th) against Botafogo, and losing the competition lead, the red-and-blacks keep their dream alive in the coming rounds. There are still three matches left until the end of the first round, and Flamengo is in third place, three points behind the leader Fluminense and two behind Vasco, in second place.

According to coach Armênio Moura, the team could have had better luck in the match against Botafogo. The coach believes that the penalty awarded to the team from General Severiano was illegitimate and a crucial moment in the game. Despite this, he rejects any whining and is already thinking about the future.

"The refereeing wasn't good. The penalty that was awarded against Flamengo didn't exist. The Botafogo player kicked the ball hard, hitting João Vitor's hand, and he blew the whistle. But we can't let this get us down," he lamented.

Next Sunday (April 04.04th), the Flamengo team will host Tigres do Brasil, and could return to the top of the table with a combination of results. Fluminense has a difficult match against Madureira, away from home, and Vasco will host Americano at São Januário. In the 14th round, Fluminense and Vasco will face each other, and Flamengo will play América at home. In the final round, Fluminense will host Macaé, Vasco will travel to Caxias, while Flamengo will play in Friburgo.
