Flamengo's Professional Football press assistant is packing his bags for Paris, France. However, Pedro Ivo Salles' trip has nothing to do with the technical and tactical work carried out on the pitches of Gávea or the Vargem Grande Training Center.
Pedro is going to compete in the Electronic Sports World Cup, which will take place between July 4th and 8th, with the participation of 44 players from 36 countries.
The advisor is the current Brazilian champion in the Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (Digital Soccer) category. He won the title on June 16th at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium in São Paulo. The competition featured the 32 best players from 16 Brazilian states.
After overcoming seven opponents in the first phase, facing the round of 1, quarter-finals and semi-finals, Pedro reached the grand final of the ESWC – Brazilian Stage (Electronic Sports World Cup) and was crowned the 2007 champion. In addition to the champion title, the red-black advisor secured the second championship for Rio de Janeiro.
All travel expenses for Pedro Ivo and the other finalist will be covered by the event organizers. Departure will take place on the 3rd at 22 p.m. in Guarulhos, São Paulo.
