Claudio Coutinho's bathrooms are renovated
The space had not been revitalized for over 20 years.

Construction work at Gávea continues apace, and members are seeing improvements at the clubhouse every day. One of the most recent is the renovation of the locker rooms and bathrooms at the Claudio Coutinho Gymnasium, which houses athletes and members who practice artistic gymnastics.
According to Fla-Gávea vice-president Cacau Cotta, the space has been the same since its construction.
"Cleaning up the house was one of Patricia's main campaign promises, and I committed to helping her achieve this goal. Renovating the gymnasium bathrooms was urgently needed, and we were able to transform the facility into a much more pleasant environment for the athletes and members who participate in the training sessions," said Cacau, noting that plans also include installing accommodations where athletes can rest between morning and afternoon workouts.
Daniele Hypolito, an athlete at the club for over 15 years, approved the work.
"New bathrooms weren't just a need for us athletes. Dozens of children and members frequent the gym every day and deserve better facilities," said the gymnast, who will compete in the Olympics for the fourth time this year.
