Captain confident of more titles this season
Bruno believes that the red-black group has the conditions to be Brazilian and Libertadores champions

One of the iconic players of this Flamengo generation, which won three state championships, dominated Rio de Janeiro football, and six Brazilian championships, goalkeeper Bruno is excited about the challenges ahead in the 2010 Flamengo season. The captain of the Gávea team spoke with Flamengo's official website about the responsibility of defending the Brazilian title and pursuing the Copa Libertadores.
Aware that there will be many challenges in both competitions, Bruno believes that the homogeneity of the squad could ultimately make the difference in Flamengo's favor. The goalkeeper also points out that the first rounds of the Brazilian Championship are crucial in the fight for a second title and says that overcoming challenges will have to be the hallmark of Flamengo's campaign if the team wants to win the Libertadores.

Responsibility - We know that in a championship as competitive as the Brazilian Championship, every team that enters as champion ends up becoming a target. Other teams will want to take points from us at any cost, and we have to do our part. Especially at home, with the support of our fans, we can't afford to hesitate. We have to go in to win every time.
Start of the Brazilian Championship - Many people say the beginning of the championship doesn't matter much, that you can recover later, but points now are as important as those from any other round. And our group knows this. I think last year's experience was very good, and the team is more seasoned for a competition like this.
Libertadores vs. Brasileiro - Of course, competing in two competitions at the same time can be more complicated. Especially when it's a Brasileiro and a Libertadores. When it's a State Championship, it's simpler, but in the Brasileiro, which is also a very important competition, the key is to have a strong squad and trust that any player who comes in will be able to contribute.
Priorities - The Libertadores is Flamengo's top priority this year, without a doubt. Our team has won the Rio de Janeiro state championship three times and the Brazilian championship, but we're still missing this title, which the club so desperately desires and which we also deeply desire. The fans can be sure that we will do our utmost to win this title.
Strength of the Group - The quality of this group is undeniable. We know we could lose some players mid-year, but I believe that with some reinforcements, including a few more experienced players, because we have a young group, we'll be able to compete for titles.
