Flamengo, after the spectacular participation of the red-black nation in this Wednesday's game against Cruzeiro, hopes that Odebrecht has been convinced of the importance of having the biggest and best fans in the world at Maracanã.

Flamengo fans value the Maracanã. They are the soul of the stadium and make it the most beautiful and vibrant in Brazil. Without Flamengo, the new Maracanã becomes just another important arena, like others that already exist.

For this reason, it cannot be accepted that the Maracanã's management model is so detrimental to Flamengo. Below are the facts we've learned from our recent experience:

- In the game on August 28th against Cruzeiro, the club's net income was R$08 for a gross income of R$734.000. With this same gross income, Corinthians at Pacaembu would have a net income of R$2.200.000.

- This same comparison made for any other arena/stadium in Brazil will prove that at Maracanã Flamengo will bring to its coffers less than half of what its opponents from other states will be collecting.

- Maracanã's operating costs are at least double those of any other stadium in Brazil, and can reach up to 10 times the cost of other stadiums capable of accommodating large audiences.

- Maracanã offers a terrible service both in ticket sales and in access operations, where the turnstiles are not sized for the high flow of fans entering close to the start time of the match.

- Consequence: long lines, impossibility of electronic access control, risks of income evasion, overcrowding and lack of control over revenue collection, lack of turnstile count, impossibility of knowing the relationship between tickets sold and the number of people who entered the stadium.

Flamengo wishes to build a fair and cooperative relationship with whoever manages Maracanã. A relationship that not only delivers positive financial results for both parties, but also brings immense joy to the club's 40 million passionate fans.
