Fans show their strength and sell out tickets reserved for home teams

The Red-Black Nation gave further proof of its strength. On Thursday, November 26th, the day ticket offices opened, tickets for the match between Flamengo and Grêmio sold out. The match will only be played on December 6th at 17 pm at the Maracanã. The match is part of the final round of the Brazilian Championship and, depending on the combination of results in the final rounds, could be worth a chance to win the sixth championship or, at least, a spot in the Copa Libertadores.
That's why every fan celebrated their ticket purchase like a red-and-black goal in a decisive match. After all, each of the thousands of paying fans already dreams of being part of the club's history. One of them is 20-year-old student Guilherme Santos, who arrived at Maracanã at 8:30 a.m. and spent just over five hours in line to buy his grandstand tickets. When he arrived at the stadium, Guilherme found the line at gate 18, far from ticket office 8, where tickets were being sold. But he didn't consider giving up for a second.
"Flamengo is like that. The fans have proven their strength and, as the mosaic from the game against Goiás said, they make a difference. We don't even know Sunday's results yet. Flamengo is coming off a result no one expected, but we'll still be there. It's worth making this sacrifice, and we all believe the team won't let us down," said Guilherme.
In Gávea, fans also had to literally sweat to get their tickets. From the early hours of the morning, lines were long at Flamengo's headquarters, for both non-members and members. Many people slept in line, others arrived in the early hours of the morning, and some just after sunrise. The wait ranged from five to six hours, tickets were even distributed, and the last tickets were sold last night.
"I arrived at the club at 8:30 a.m. and the line was already huge. The lack of light was a bit of a hindrance, but nothing that takes away from the fans' enthusiasm and the passion we have for Flamengo. Now is the time to support. I also secured my tickets for the game against Corinthians yesterday (Wednesday) and I'm sure we'll arrive at this final round with a chance of winning the title," said 22-year-old journalist Renato Batista.
There's still hope for those who couldn't get their tickets. Flamengo has allocated eight thousand tickets to Grêmio. If the Rio Grande do Sul club isn't interested in purchasing the entire allotment, the remaining tickets will be sold to the Flamengo fans on Wednesday, December 2nd.
