UNESCO mission chief comes to Rio and asks for Flamengo shirt
Mexican Saúl Alcántara responded to his son's request to wear the jersey of the team with the biggest fan base in the world.

On a visit to Rio de Janeiro to evaluate its candidacy for World Heritage status in the cultural landscape category, the head of the UNESCO mission, Mexican architect Saúl Alcántara, brought with him a unique request: he wanted a Flamengo shirt.
Promptly answered, he revealed the reason for his request to the Brazilians. In fact, it was a family appeal.
"I love soccer, and my son asked me to bring him a Flamengo jersey, the club with the largest fan base in the world. He supports Chivas Guadalajara, considered the club with the second largest fan base in the world, and he was curious about having a Flamengo jersey," explained Saúl, who understood in just a few days what the Nation already knows.
"Now, after this visit to Rio, I return with an even more important fact about Flamengo: it is Rio's cultural heritage."
