Fla officially announces the fans as their 12th player
The CBF could move the Vasco derby again
The idea of fans as the 12th player is no longer just rhetoric at Flamengo. The board decided to retire the number 12 jersey, previously worn by goalkeepers, who will now wear number 13. Number 12 will be dedicated exclusively to the fans. The club will soon put the new jersey on sale, following a major launch event. Using the old jersey designed by Flamengo's Henfil ("I love Flamengo") as a base, the club pays tribute to its fans, who this year have already demonstrated their love and passion, bringing over a million people to Flamengo games, breaking records.
"The idea came from two fans (Reginaldo Carrera and Paulo Terra), and we think the tribute is more than fitting. The marketing department will hold an event to launch the jersey, based on Henfil's, but from now on, the number 12 will no longer be worn by goalkeepers," said president Márcio Braga.
Juan completes 100 games for Flamengo on Saturday
And a new record-breaking opportunity could be postponed. The derby against Vasco, still part of the first round and scheduled for Thursday (the 18th), is at risk of being moved again. Sources at the CBF report that the Military Police have already warned that they cannot use full capacity on Thursday, having used the same capacity the day before for a Brazilian national team match.
In a tribute, Flamengo intends to pay tribute to left-back Juan, who will complete his 100th appearance for the club on Saturday. Juan will receive a personalized jersey with the number XNUMX.

Roger opens up and denies his reputation as a 'slipper'
Roger has yet to score a goal for Rubro-Negro
Supporter Roger, out of the team since the loss to Internacional, spoke out during training on Wednesday. The player denied being labeled a "flip flop" and has dedicated himself to resolving the repeated injuries that have kept him out of action for Flamengo.
"When we get hurt, we know that the harder we work, the more we have to dedicate ourselves. I'm the one suffering the most in this whole situation. The people around me feel it too, because I come home upset and sad. Only the people who follow me know the effort I've made to resolve this problem," Roger told Rádio Tupi.
The athlete stated that he has suffered other injuries, but nothing compared to this sequence that has hampered his time with Rubro-Negro. Roger emphasized that no one is more demanding of him to return to the field than himself.
"I've had serious injuries before, but I knew how long it would take to heal. But these muscle injuries have been bothering me a lot. Just when it seems like I'm getting better, I feel it again. These are moments in life, I have to understand. The biggest pressure is on me, and the biggest pressurer too," the supporter declared.
Roger even asked for his salary to be suspended until he returned to the field, a request that was promptly denied by Vice President Kleber Leite.
Juan knows what awaits him in Curitiba: 'It's going to be a tough game'
Kill it, Juan! The full-back is the team's top scorer and an efficient waiter.
Despite not having a great Fla-Flu performance, full-back Juan has been Flamengo's standout performer in this Brasileirão. The team's top scorer with five goals and boasting an incredible assist average, the full-back is a key player in Joel Santana's team's victory over Paraná in Curitiba. Despite beating his opponent in both matches this year in the Copa Libertadores, Juan knows how difficult it is to face the Paraná team at Vila Capanema.
"It's going to be a tough game, but we'll treat it as a key one. Playing there is always tough; we faced them in the Libertadores, but this time it's different. Paraná is a strong team at home, and the pitch there is very bad," said the player—who explains why Flamengo has won only one away match in this Brasileirão.
"We've made some mistakes away from home. At Maraca, we have our fans, who help us," explained Juan.
Ghost\ Defender Fábio Luciano, who has also been standing out in the team, said that Flamengo will have a different attitude than it had in the defeat to Flu last Sunday.\
"We're going to change things up for the game against Paraná, correcting our mistakes and taking advantage of the return of players who haven't played in recent matches," said the red-and-black defense's strongman.
Regarding the team's chances in the Brazilian Championship, the players are divided; some, like Fábio Luciano, still believe it's a remote possibility. Full-back Juan, however, believes that all teams from Sporting to América-RN are threatened by the specter of relegation.
“I think any team that is close to 40 points is still at risk,” Juan added.
Flamengo retires the number 12 jersey
Last night, Flamengo's board announced the retirement of the number 12 jersey. The club's goal is to honor the fans, who have always considered him the second 12th player at Gávea. The decision has already been approved by president Márcio Braga and should take effect starting with the next game.
The idea of retirement was given by the club's advisor, Reginaldo Beltrão.
Last night, the club's advisory board approved Flamengo's new home jersey for next year's season. The new jersey will feature thinner stripes, reminiscent of the club's uniform from the 50s. The white away jersey was rejected because the advisors found the stripes too thin.
Fla faces the STJD
Flamengo will face the Superior Court of Sports Justice again. The Superior Court of Justice (STJD) prosecutor's office filed an appeal against the ruling that acquitted the club of alleged cup-throwing on the field during the derby against Vasco. In the first ruling, the Third Committee acquitted the club by a majority vote. The next ruling will be on the 18th.
Flamengo team defeats São Cristóvão in the OPG
Under a scorching sun, Flamengo's youth team played São Cristóvão yesterday, defeating the home team 2-0 in the third round of the Octávio Pinto Guimarães Tournament (OPG). Despite the victory, the boys from Gávea remain second in Group A of the competition, with six points. Diego Oliveira and Carlinhos scored the match's goals—both in the first half.
Flamengo started the match with a bang and scored two goals in the first half that secured this important victory. After a perfectly taken free kick by Léo, Diego Oliveira rose above the entire São Cristóvão defense and headed the ball past the goalkeeper. The second goal came after a beautiful play down the wing. Vander, the number 10, crossed, the defense missed, and Carlinhos sealed the victory.
After the match, Vander commented on the team's good performance and complained a lot about the match time being scheduled for 13 pm, under a sun of almost 40 degrees.
"We scored in the first half and used the second half to pass the ball around and wait for time to pass. The heat was almost unbearable," said number 10 Vander.
The next match for the team led by coach Adílio is this Sunday at 15 p.m. in Gávea, against Estácio do Sá, in the fourth round. With a win, Flamengo will equal Nova Iguaçu, the group leader with nine points from three games.

Put your foot in the game, Argentine! Max Biancucchi practices goal kicks, watched by Juan, Kayke and Joel
One of Flamengo's biggest problems in recent years has been its attack. In this year's Brazilian Championship, despite scoring 43 goals in 29 games, Joel Santana's team only has the ninth-best attack in the competition. To improve this average, the coach led a shooting practice yesterday afternoon, which resulted in poor performance from the players. During the nearly two hours of training, the players shot several times with both feet, but most of the shots were saved by the club's three goalkeepers—Bruno, Diego, and Marcelo Lomba.
Despite the missed shots, Argentine Hugo Colace's shins, and missteps, some players managed to shine. New signing Kleberson, the forgotten Assumpção, and defensive midfielder Cristian outperformed their teammates and managed to get some good shots off.
Irritation and excitement\ The five-time World Cup-winning defensive midfielder was irritating the goalkeepers with the accuracy of his shots. So much so that when third-choice goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba made a beautiful save in the left corner after a shot from him, Bruno and Diego immediately burst into excitement.\
In addition to performing poorly in training, the attacking duo considered ideal by Joel Santana — Maxi-Souza — only scored five goals in the Brazilian Championship.

Flamengo and Vasco may face each other in court due to the partnerships made after the arbitration

The three matches won by Vasco, with winger Valtinho (shirt number 9) could be annulled if the action is won by Flamengo
Flamengo has decided to follow through on its threats to appeal to the Sports Court and may halt the State Basketball Championship. The case involving partnerships established since the beginning of the competition has already been handed over to the club's lawyers, who are analyzing the best course of action.
As reported by JORNAL DOS SPORTS last week, Gávea's basketball director, Arnaldo Szpiro, intended to legally prevent clubs that partnered after the arbitration proceedings from participating in the state championship. According to the director, they were violating the rules.
"All the clubs met at the arbitration and reached an agreement. It cannot be disrespected after the start of the competition," said Szpiro.
The arbitration item that is causing so much controversy was precisely the last one to be debated. Entitled
"Transfer of athletes" states that "athletes affiliated with the Capixaba Basketball Federation by the Saldanha da Gama and CETAF clubs, in view of the agreement signed, respectively, with Vasco and Campos, and duly approved unanimously in this arbitration, will play upon presentation of the athlete card provided by FECABA".
Of the five partnerships signed by Rio de Janeiro clubs, only one was previously approved. Based on this alleged irregularity, Flamengo intends to take the case to the appropriate courts. As a result, the clubs involved could lose their points, and the championship could even be annulled.
Provocation
The incident only further fueled the rivalry between Fla and Vasco. The club's vice-president of legal affairs, Paulo Reis, stated that he has nothing to fear and took the opportunity to criticize his rival.
"We are calm. They just need to stop saying they are going to ruin the State Championship. If they are unhappy, take the clothes, put them in the bag and leave."
Meanwhile, the red-blacks accuse Vasco of not acting ethically.
"It's not our fault if they don't have the competence or financial capacity to put together a team that can compete with Flamengo. What we can't tolerate is them acting without ethics or clarity," said a disgruntled Szpiro.
State basketball championship already has new dates
The game between Flamengo and Automóvel FC already has a new date: it will be on the 19th, Friday, at 19 pm.
Flamengo's match against Iguaçu-Praia has been moved to Tuesday, the 30th of this month, at 19 p.m. The derby against Vasco will be on the 28th, at 11 a.m., at Tijuca Tennis Club. The Rubro-Negro's next opponent is Municipal, this Sunday, at the Hélio Maurício Gymnasium.

Flamengo decides to retire the number 12 shirt in tribute to the fans
Rio - To somehow reward the overwhelming support of the red-and-black fans, even when the team is not going through a good phase, Flamengo decided to adopt a different measure to honor them. Last night, the board decided to retire the number 12 jersey, in the name of all the fans who have been packing the Maracanã, cheering the team on in the Brazilian Championship and putting on a show in the stands.
The idea came from a letter sent by Councilor Reginaldo Beltrão Chaves. The measure has already been approved by President Márcio Braga and could take effect starting with the next game, against Paraná, on Saturday, in Curitiba. Therefore, goalkeeper Diego will have to wear a number other than 12.
Flamengo is currently 13th in the Brasileirão with 40 points. Of these, 28 were earned at home. They have eight wins, four draws, and three losses playing at home. The team's average home attendance is 28.219 people per game.
Flamengo: With expiration date
Roger needs to show up for work by November 30th, or he will have to leave Gávea.
Marluci Martins
Rio - Roger has until November 30th to demonstrate the form he hasn't yet achieved at Flamengo. This is the deadline for the club to inform Corinthians whether it is interested in acquiring 50 percent of his rights. Otherwise, the midfielder will leave Gávea at the end of his contract in December.
The obligation to perform is hindered by a mysterious pain in his left thigh, which recurs frequently. The midfielder hasn't been a starter for the team for six rounds. He even took the field against São Paulo, but the injury recurred, undetected by any of the tests Roger has undergone thus far.
The drama prompted the supporter to seek out vice president of football Kléber Leite for a conversation: "I'm feeling bad because I know I have a good contract and am part of a big project, but I can't play. That's why I've made myself available to the club to work without pay during this period of inactivity."
Flamengo's director, however, rejected Roger's proposal. "This doesn't make sense. Poor guy, he's been doing everything he can to get back into action. I think he's suffering from emotional stress," said Kléber Leite.
Roger has received full support from doctor José Luiz Runco, who is with the National Team in Teresópolis.
“He said that, as I was out of action at Corinthians for three to four months, my muscles are complaining now that they are being used,” explained Roger, distressed at being considered a 'slipper'.
In a race against time to secure a job in 2008, Roger knows he's losing for now. Kléber Leite admitted that to stay, the player has to return soon.
"Without a doubt, he needs to play, because Joel is the one who will give the opinion, not me," the director emphasized, without knowing what Roger's fate will be in 50 days.
Paraná's situation is worrying
In addition to its poor performance in away matches, Flamengo has another obstacle to overcome in Saturday's match against Paraná: its opponent is fighting to avoid relegation. This situation worries full-back Juan.
"It's going to be a very tense game. And Paraná will have a new coach (Saulo de Freitas), which could serve as motivation for their players," warned the full-back.
The Flamengo delegation travels tonight and the team trains tomorrow in Curitiba.
ARBITRATION
As if the problems detected by left-back Juan weren't enough, Flamengo's board also turned up their noses at the selection of referee Alício Pena Júnior, from Minas Gerais.
In seven games played under Alício's watch, Flamengo has not won a single one. The team has suffered six losses and managed one draw.
Jaílton: "Thiago Neves is being cool"
Rio - Last Sunday's Flamengo-Flu match, won 2-0 by the Tricolores, still generates a fair share of provocations. Supporter Thiago Neves teased the possibility of Flamengo being relegated to the Second Division of the Brazilian Championship, but this Tuesday he once again provoked the ire of the Flamengo players. Thiago Neves named two injuries on his leg "Jaílton" and "Cristian," but the joke didn't go down well with the honorees.
"He's just being fussy. He must just be trying to show off. It's even disrespectful to us. Cristian and I went onto the field to play football, not to be mean," Jaílton grumbled.
After the controversy surrounding the provocations about Flamengo's possible relegation, Thiago Neves publicly apologized for the words he said after the classic.

For Joel, scoring points is a priority. Roger is offering his job.\ Gazeta Press\
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - Artistic football and dreams of a spot in the Copa Libertadores or the Copa Sudamericana are taking a back seat for Flamengo. According to coach Joel Santana, the Rubro-Negro's priority is to earn as many points as possible in the nine remaining games in the Brazilian Championship. Currently with 40 points, the team is torn between two distinct brackets in the standings, and Saturday's result against Paraná could help Flamengo determine which front it will face in this final stretch. "I would say it's not a six-point game, but a 12-point game. We have 40 points and are three or four points away from the Copa Sudamericana and also three or four points away from the relegation zone. We're between heaven and hell. Now we just have to earn points, and that's what we want," said the coach.
This Wednesday, Joel Santana once again blamed fatigue for last weekend's loss to Fluminense. Days earlier, the Red-Blacks had beaten the Brazilian league leaders, São Paulo. Another lament regarding the derby's result was midfielder Roger, who has been spending more time in the medical department and training than on the field. Even so, Joel says he still counts on Roger for this Brazilian league.
"In the game against Fluminense, we needed a player like him—a fearless player with a lot of quality, but he's in good physical shape. We're trying to prepare him, as we'll need him in the future," he explained.
Vice-president of football Kléber Leite stated that he was approached by Roger, who offered the director the freedom to terminate his contract if that was the Flamengo board's wish. On loan from Corinthians, Flamengo has until the end of November to decide whether to keep the player for 2008.

Flamengo retires the '12' jersey in honor of the fans
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - In keeping with its fans, Flamengo decided to adopt a different measure to honor them. This Wednesday, the board decided to retire the number 12 jersey, in the name of all the fans who have supported the Rubro-Negro in the Brazilian Championship. The decision was made after a meeting between directors. The idea came from a letter sent by board member Reginaldo Beltrão Chaves. The team's average home attendance is 28.219 people per game.

Angry, Roger asks not to receive a salary at Fla\ Gazeta Press\
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - Angered by suggestions that he was faking a muscle injury to avoid playing for Flamengo, midfielder Roger decided to speak out this Wednesday at Gávea Stadium. The player confirmed that he had asked vice-president of football, Kléber Leite, to withhold his salary while he was away from the team, a request the manager rejected. "The press knows that when you get injured, you have to be more dedicated to resolving the issue. The ones who suffer the most right now are me and the people close to me, because I come home grumpy and sometimes have wires attached to my leg to try to speed up recovery. But when the timing isn't right, the criticism is even greater," he stated.
With his salary guaranteed by Flamengo's management, Roger is now working to shorten his absence from the team. However, the midfielder has already been ruled out of this Saturday's match against Paraná at the Durival de Brito Stadium.
Renato Augusto still not confident to return\ Gazeta Press\
Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - Muscle pain in his right thigh continues to bother midfielder Renato Augusto. This Wednesday, the player admitted he still lacks confidence to return to Flamengo. Last Tuesday, while participating in a tactical training session, he felt the injury again. "I only want to return when I'm 100%. I need to stay calm so as not to hinder my return, because I want to perform on the field. My style of play depends a lot on my physical performance. If I have to sit out, I'll work to return against Vasco," commented the Flamengo midfielder.
With other absences in the offensive system, such as forwards Leonardo and Obina, coach Joel Santana does not hide his concern about the absence of Renato Augusto for the clash that is important in the fight to escape the specter of relegation.
"Renato Augusto is a player the squad is missing. But he needs to return when he can show his old form. For the match against Paraná, we have to rely on what we have, because from now on, every game is a decisive one," said the red-and-black coach.
This Thursday, Flamengo will train in the afternoon at Gávea and travel to the capital of Paraná that evening. On Friday, the Red-Blacks will hold a training session at Coritiba's training center, their final training session before the match.
Two players remain in Rio de Janeiro and will not travel with the delegation to Curitiba: midfielder Kléberson and forward Obina. The former, recently signed, will only be cleared to play in 2008. The club's favorite player still hopes to play this year, but will have to wait for his appeal to be heard on the 18th.
Social Action – While he doesn't know when he'll be able to play again, Obina is taking advantage of the opportunity to participate in civic initiatives. This week, the forward attended a Children's Day celebration at the National Cancer Institute (INCA).

Flamengo trains aim to win away from home in the Brasileirão
From the Editorial Office\ In São Paulo\
Flamengo held another training session on Wednesday afternoon at the Gávea field. Coach Joel Santana led a finishing session with the players, preparing for the match against Paraná this Saturday at 16 p.m. in Curitiba.
In the first half, the players practiced left- and right-footed kicks with the ball rolling on one side of the field. On the other side, assistant coach Andrade practiced positioning the defenders and midfielder Rômulo on balls lofted into the box.
At the end of training, Joel had the entire Flamengo squad practice finishing with crosses into the box. The coach set up the full-backs on the wings, delivering crosses to the players.
Roger, Jailton, Leonardo, and Ibson did separate strength training at the club's gym. Ibson is the only athlete the coaching staff isn't concerned about for the match against Paraná.
With a game in hand, Flamengo currently sits in 13th place in the Brasileirão with 40 points, three points above the relegation zone. Paraná is 18th with 34. Therefore, this matchup is crucial for both teams' hopes.

Flamengo will again face trial over the cup thrown by a Flamengo fan during the 1-1 draw with Vasco da Gama at Maracanã Stadium on September 16th in the Brazilian Championship. Following a request from the Third Disciplinary Committee of the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD), a new decision will be issued next Thursday.
The Gávea club was reported for violating Article 213 (failure to take measures capable of preventing and repressing disorders in its sports arena), combined with Article 157, paragraph I (consummated, when all the elements of its definition are met), both of the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice.
If punished, Flamengo will have to pay a fine of R$10 to R$200. Additionally, the club risks losing its home-field advantage for one to ten matches.

Coach Joel Santana used Wednesday's training session to help Flamengo's players hone their aim. The results, however, weren't particularly encouraging. Of all the Flamengo players, only Kléberson and midfielder Cristian performed well in the drill.
The five-time world champion was so good at the fundamentals that he seriously upset Marcelo Lomba, the third goalkeeper and sparring partner for the red-black shooters.
In 13th place, with 40 points, Flamengo returns to the field next Saturday, against Paraná, at 16 pm in Brasília), at the Durival Britto Stadium, for the 31st round of the Brazilian Championship.

Fla retires the number 12 shirt
The board says that the number will be dedicated to the red-black fans
Eduardo Peixoto
From now on, Flamengo's reserve goalkeepers will need to find a new number. On Wednesday night, the Flamengo board announced the retirement of the number 12 jersey.
The justification is simple: the club wants to honor its fans. The number 12 will be the official number for the fans (watch the red-and-blacks' performance in the match against São Paulo below). The decision has already been approved by president Márcio Braga and should come into effect starting with the next match.
The idea was put forward by board member Reginaldo Beltrão. He noted that Flamengo is currently enjoying a "honeymoon" period with its fans, and this would be a good time to immortalize them.
In the current Brazilian Championship, the seven largest attendances are for Rubro-Negro matches at Maracanã. The club's average home attendance is 28.219 people per match.

Roger vents in Gávea
The adjectives "slipper" and "careless" are part of Roger's daily routine at Flamengo. But every time his thigh hurts, the player suffers. And the guilt led him to take radical action.
He approached Rubro-Negro's vice-president of football, Kléber Leite, and offered to work for free.
"I told Kléber that he could work without pay during this time when I'm not playing. I'm the one suffering the most right now. It used to be bad to come home, know I have a good contract, and not be able to play. But now the weight is off my shoulders," he says.
Wires on the leg
Kléber Leite's response pleased Roger. The manager reiterated his support and declined the offer of free work. The player blames his psychological state for the slow recovery.
"I spoke with Runco (Flamengo's doctor), and he said the main reason for this delay is anxiety. I come home in a bad mood, upset. It's annoying walking around with wires stuck to my leg," he says, referring to the electrodes they use to speed up the treatment.
With pain in his left thigh, the player is out of Saturday's game against Paraná. He underwent a series of tests to determine the cause of his repeated injuries, and the results are expected this Thursday. If everything is "clear," he will return to training normally with his teammates later this week.
Roger hasn't started a match since September 8th against Inter. He was then sidelined to regain fitness and suffered a left thigh injury. In the match against São Paulo, the midfielder came on in the final minutes, felt pain in his left thigh again, and didn't play against Fluminense.

Portuguese make offer for Maracanã
According to columnist Ancelmo Gois, Luso Arenas is eyeing the 2014 World Cup
Fla and Flu signed an agreement with the Rio de Janeiro State Government in September. The Portuguese group Luso Arenas, in partnership with Morgan Stanley and likely Fluminense, submitted a proposal to the Rio de Janeiro State Government to manage the Maracanã stadium. The group, which is expected to build a stadium in Bahia, is interested in profiting from the 2014 World Cup, which has only Brazil as a contender to host the tournament. This information comes from Ancelmo Gois, a columnist for the newspaper "O Globo."
Luso Arenas, owned by the Espírito Santo group, has been mentioned several times this year by Fluminense president Roberto Horcades as a partner for the management or construction of a stadium for the club. With the withdrawal of the bid for the Engenhão stadium, which Botafogo curiously manages in partnership with another Portuguese group, TBZ, Fluminense will compete with Flamengo for the management of the Maracanã stadium.
Both reached an agreement in September to sign a deal with the Rio de Janeiro State Government, which reduced Maracanã fees with the commitment of both clubs to play 70% of home matches at the stadium.
The bidding notice is expected to be published between the end of this month and the beginning of November. According to the state government, the presence of a club will be mandatory in partnerships that submit two proposals to manage the stadium.
Saturday's referee scares Flamengo
Rio de Janeiro team fails to perform well in games refereed by Minas Gerais native Alício Pena Júnior
If it depends on Flamengo's Minas Gerais native Alício Pena Júnior's track record in matches, the Red-Blacks will have a tough time beating Paraná this Saturday, as he will be refereeing the Brasileirão match in Curitiba. In seven games under Alício, Flamengo has lost six and drawn one.
The last of these was in Florianópolis, on June 10th of this year, against Figueirense. The result: 4-0 for the home team and much complaining from the red-and-blacks (watch the goals from the game in the video above).

Fla returns to the STJD
The club will be judged, again, for the glasses thrown onto the field in the classic against Vasco
Flamengo was charged with throwing water glasses onto the pitch during the derby against Vasco da Gama on September 16th (watch the video below). At the trial, the Third Committee acquitted the club by a majority vote. However, the prosecutor's office of the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) filed an appeal, and Flamengo will be tried again next Thursday by the full court. On the same day, Obina will also be in the dock for elbowing Inter's Índio. The forward hopes to have his 120-day sentence reduced.
Flamengo was reported for violating Article 213 (Failure to take measures capable of preventing and repressing disorders in its sports arena), combined with Article 157, paragraph I (consummated, when all the elements of its definition are met), both of the Brazilian Code of Sports Justice.
The article provides for a fine of R$10.000,00 (ten thousand reais) to R$200.000,00 (two hundred thousand reais) and loss of home field advantage for one to ten matches.

Wednesday afternoon was spent fine-tuning Flamengo's shooting. For nearly two hours, the players worked on finishing moves in Gávea.
Their performance wasn't the best, but some players stood out. Kléberson, Assumpção, and Cristian were the best. The five-time World Cup-winning midfielder, in fact, was "annoying" the goalkeepers with his shooting accuracy.
So much so that, when Marcelo Lomba managed to save one of his shots, Bruno and Diego were thrilled.
In 13th place in the Brazilian league, with 40 points, Flamengo returns to the field next Saturday against Paraná, in Curitiba.

LANCEPRESS! Supporter Roger denied reports on Wednesday that he had given Flamengo's board the freedom to terminate his contract. Disturbed by his inactivity, the player spoke with vice president of football Kléber Leite and suggested he only receive a salary when he was ready to help the team in games.
However, according to Roger, the manager was against this measure and assured that he would have complete patience with any player who goes through this type of situation: being out of action due to repeated injuries.
The supporter was pleased with the vote of confidence, stated that he still hopes to shine for Flamengo and said that he gets upset when people say he doesn't dedicate himself.
"I don't like being called a slipper. Kléber said he wants to keep me here, and I still believe I'll prove my worth," he ventured.
To keep Roger for next year, Flamengo will have to pay US$500 (around R$850) to Corinthians.
Flamengo decides to retire the number 12 shirt

LANCEPRESS!
While on honeymoon with the team, even though it's not in a good position in the Brazilian Championship (it's 13th), Flamengo fans will receive a tribute from the board. The number 12 jersey, which normally symbolizes the strength that comes from the stands, will be retired.
The measure has already been approved by President Márcio Braga and could come into effect from the next game, against Paraná, next Saturday, in Curitiba.
As a result, the goalkeeper who is on the bench, which has recently been Diego, will have to wear a number other than 12.
Márcio Braga was inspired by a letter sent by counselor Reginaldo Beltrão Chaves.
It is worth remembering that Atlético-MG was the first Brazilian club to take such a measure.

Flamengo faces Paraná this Saturday at Durival Britto Stadium in Curitiba, aware of the challenges they will face. Left-back Juan made a point of emphasizing the Tricolor from Paraná's strength at home.
"It will be a very difficult, tense, and tense game. We know how difficult it is to play there. They're strong at home, and the pitch is very bad," he revealed.
Regarding the position that the two teams currently occupy in the table, the full-back highlighted the importance that the match will have for this reason:
"It will be a key match because it's a direct confrontation. Everyone in the mix is at risk of relegation. Our reality is to fight against relegation."
Flamengo already beat Paraná in Curitiba this year: in the Libertadores, Renato - who has already left Rubro-Negro - scored the only goal of the game.
Juan highlighted that Flamengo's full-backs (himself and Leonardo Moura), considered the team's strong point, are suffering from the opponents' greatest concern.
"These days, all the teams know each other. We're strong on the wing, regardless of the opponent. The fact that we're Flamengo's top scorers in the Brazilian Championship has only increased the marking on us," the left-back admitted.
Flamengo fans complain about game prices
Flamengo fans will pay R$40 to watch Fla x Paraná, but the director explains
LANCEPRESS!
The president of Fla-Paraná, Flamengo's organized fan faction in Curitiba, complained that fans of visiting clubs do not receive the same treatment as the home team (Atlético-PR and Paraná), especially in relation to tickets.
According to him, "the opposing fans, in addition to being squeezed into a corner with little visibility of the game, are prevented from entering with banners, flags and drums – procedures that are only allowed for local fans..."
Another complaint concerns ticket prices. While Paraná fans will pay R$10, Flamengo fans will have to shell out R$40.
"This year, in the game against Atlético PR on August 8, this practice was already adopted... Visitors were charged R$40, while local fans were charged only R$20, with the price falling by half when half was paid."
According to Paraná's football director, José Domingos, the fact that visiting club fans are not allowed to bring instruments is a Military Police order. Regarding tickets, he explains that the club can set the price for specific sections.
"It's always been this price for visitors. It's never changed," he said.
For the game between Paraná and Flamengo, tickets for the general social, north curve, straight clock sections and for box owners (all Paraná fans) will have promotional prices and will cost R$10.

Fred Gomes\ If the year 2007 is being marked by Flamengo's poor record in classics (one victory in 11 games, with a success rate of 30,3%), exactly 64 years ago, on October 10, 1943, Rubro-Negro won the second title of the first three-time State Championship in its history (1942/1943/1944) with a crushing 5-0 victory over Bangu.\
Perácio's three goals and Pirilo's two capped off a campaign in which the Gávea club had an 83,33% success rate in games against its three biggest rivals.
In the six classics played in the 1943 State Championship, Fla only failed to win - 2-2 and 1-1 draws with Fluminense and Vasco, respectively. Against Botafogo, there were two wins in two games (4-1 and 4-2). Tricolor also suffered against Rubro-Negro, being defeated 2-0.
The match against Vasco in that year's championship marks an important chapter in the history of the Clássico dos Milhões, as on October 3rd, Flamengo defeated the Gigante da Colina 6-2, the Rubro-Negro's biggest win over its biggest rival. Perácio (two), Pirillo (two), Vevé, and Zizinho scored for the Gávea club. Chico and Lelé added goals.
Also worthy of note was the impressive average of goals scored by Flamengo in the 1943 championship, as the 51 goals scored in 18 games constituted an overwhelming mark of 2,83 goals per game. In the 2007 Brasileirão, Flamengo had only the ninth best average of goals per game (1,43).
Flamengo, the 1943 Rio de Janeiro champions, won 11 of their 18 matches, drawing six others, and losing only one—2-1 to América in the third round. Perácio, with 14 goals, was Flamengo's top scorer and the second-highest in the competition. Vasco's Ademir Menezes, known as Queixada, was the top scorer, netting 21 goals.
Among the main players in the 1943 champion squad were Domingos da Guia, Pirillo, the player who scored the most goals in a single edition of the Rio de Janeiro State Championship, with 39 in 1941, as well as Zizinho, former star and great idol of Pelé, the greatest player in the history of football.
