Roberto Rocha Pinto is 10 years old. He never saw Andrade play. But yesterday morning, he was one of the hundreds of children who surrounded the Flamengo idol as soon as he arrived at the Estádio do Trabalhador to don the Flamengo jersey again and take the field for the club's masters team. In the eyes of the fans, Andrade has always been a star treated with the affection that world champions deserve. But Brazil's sixth championship has renewed his idolatry.

RESENDE. It's no secret that there's still a considerable difference between Flamengo's offer and Andrade's request for a contract renewal. Yesterday, after playing for the club's masters, the coach confirmed that the club offered him a 120% salary increase. However, since he believes his salary was well below market value, he believes a larger raise would have been fair.

"That's relative: 120% on twenty is one thing, on one hundred is another. And there's still 27,5% tax. Running a club like Flamengo is a huge responsibility," Andrade warned.

Rio - It was a Christmas gift, a story with a happy ending. Flamengo's sixth championship title began to be drawn and written before 17 p.m. on Sunday, December 6th. On the eve of the decisive match against Grêmio, at the Granja Comary training camp in Teresópolis, Leonardo Moura woke up early and was captivated by the positive energy emanating from Adriano, Andrade, and all the players. That moment needed to be recorded. In the right-back's words, God wrote it right, and it wasn't crooked, but rather, it was a happy ending.

"We woke up on Saturday with a positive feeling. Everything that went through my head and heart needed to be documented so it would never be forgotten. I wrote it down and it was like a movie that went through my head," reveals Léo Moura, who swapped pen and paper for modernity from Itouch.

\ The player says that in football it soon becomes clear when something isn't going to work out.\ At no point was this feeling in the air. Flamengo is close to announcing Michael

Left-back Michael, who had been training separately from Botafogo's squad, could be announced as Flamengo's first signing after winning the Brazilian Championship. The player has the backing of coach Andrade and has already been approached by Flamengo officials. Interestingly, that year Flamengo was also the champion, but the runner-up was Botafogo. Since then, there has always been at least one São Paulo club in first or second place.
\
Between 1993 and 2008, there were 16 editions of the Brazilian Championship, with ten titles for the São Paulo team, as well as nine runner-up finishes. On three occasions, the State of São Paulo achieved a double at the top of the table.

Bad teeth, rickety, barefoot and with a worn-out shirt Flamengo. This is how Ronaldo Angelim would train at the beginning of his career at Icasa, in

Shortly before turning professional, Ronaldo Angelim would wake up at 4 a.m. as a bread delivery man in Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará. After delivering bread throughout the city, he would go straight to his job as a well digger, which took him 8 hours a day. He earned R$25 a week for this service. Only after all this did he go to train at Icasa or play his "babas," as he calls his "peladas."

\ Unlike most players, the always defender (once in a while\ played as a defensive midfielder) began training at the age of 20. Recommended for\ shining in amateur teams in the Cariri region, he went to do the "trial" at Icasa.\ His talent caught the eye of three people at the main club in the city\ of Ceará: youth scout Décio Pelé, professional coach Luiz Carlos\ Silva and president Kleber Lavor.

\ - Each one had its importance - says Angelim.
\
\ At first, the defender didn't take football very seriously. But in his first year at the club, he showed that he was a unique player, winning the local tournament and signing his first contract.
\
- In the beginning, I worked more digging wells and delivering bread than playing soccer. That was what gave me the most money. I earned R$100 a month digging wells and R$80 at Icasa - Angelim recalls.

Many people tried to convince him that football would be more important.
\
\ - He wanted to drop everything just to work, even if it was digging a well or\ delivering bread. I tried to persuade him otherwise, because he was really\ talented - says Décio Pelé.
\
That's when his friendship with Kleber Lavor began, and he did everything he could to show the young player that he should stay at the club. In addition to the first contract, the then director did everything he could to please his star.
\
- Our relationship has always been great. In the beginning, I gave him a bike to go to training. He trusted me a lot.
\
\But to achieve this status, Angelim set an example on and off the field.\He never drank, smoked, used drugs, or was undisciplined. On the contrary, he was\the first to arrive and the last to leave training - as he still is today at Flamengo.
\
"I used to stay with him until after training, throwing the ball up, practicing heading and jumping. That's why he's known today for being a defender who jumps up the pitch. I even said that one day he would play for Flamengo or Corinthians. I prayed and made a promise for that to happen. I hope he's very happy, earns a lot of money, and continues to be the humble person he is," said Décio Pelé, nicknamed after marking the King of Football in a friendly match in Juazeiro do Norte.

\ Today, however, his reality and that of his first coach, Luiz Carlos Silva, are\ very different. The latter, unfortunately, could not be interviewed by\ GLOBOESPORTE.COM because he is hospitalized in an alcoholism rehabilitation center.\ Décio, who is 66 years old, lives in a very simple house in a poor neighborhood\ of Juazeiro do Norte.
\
"The next charity game I play here won't be to collect food. I'm going to ask for money to help Décio," Angelim promised.

At the bottom of the well

"It's a very difficult profession, one that no one would accept. But I didn't care. There were so many animals, green snakes, coral snakes... I always came out with my hand swollen from digging so much... After a while, I even bought my own tools so I could work and earn a little more money... And also to have a guarantee in case I didn't make it in football. I've dug some wells that almost collapsed. There was one time when the walls started shaking and I got out quickly. As soon as I got out, the well collapsed," recalls the defender, who is proud of his past.
So much so that he enjoys remembering old stories.

"There was a time we were digging a well on a farm that had a tree with a large, ripe soursop. My friend Tito couldn't help himself, he went over and ate it... I know the farm owner was furious and deducted a day's pay from everyone's work (laughs). I worked for four years digging wells. I think I dug more wells than I scored goals... I must have scored about 50 goals in my career, and I've dug over 500 wells. I've always enjoyed working. I even miss what I used to do... But playing soccer is much better... I'm very happy. If I had to go back in time, I would. I had a lot of hardship, but I was happy... I managed to earn my money honestly and buy a few things for myself, even though I was poor," said Angelim, shortly after climbing into a well to demonstrate (very quickly) what his job was like.

Look at the bread

Before going to dig wells, Ronaldo Angelim would wake up at dawn to deliver bread throughout Juazeiro do Norte. He would leave with a full basket on his back to the houses and businesses in the city at 4 a.m.
\
\ - It was still dark when I woke up to deliver bread to the stores, with the\ basket on my back... Then I spent the whole day digging and still had time left for football - says the defender.
\
\ But a secret was revealed by friend Kleber Lavor.
\
"He ate too much. When he left the bakery, he ate the bread too. There were 15 every morning!" reveals the former president of Icasa.
\
\ Angelim admitted.
\
\ - I would eat it. But Kleber is wrong. There were more than 15 loaves of bread... - said the defender.

In addition to deliveries, Ronaldo performed other duties at Panificadora Gil, which now has a different name and is located near his home in Juazeiro do Norte. Besides preparing the dough, thinning it, and managing the yeast, he was also a baker.
\
"I worked on everything in here. Especially here in the oven. We used this kind of pole (about four meters long) to take the bread trays out of the oven," said Angelim, once again demonstrating his skill in his old profession.
