Trauma-free transition
\
\ Patrícia avoids radical change at Fla. The challenge is to achieve results without new debts
\
\
\
\ PATRÍCIA AMORIM poses next to Andrade, minutes before taking office in Gávea:\ football structure is maintained
\
\
\ Carlos Eduardo Mansur
\
Of the six vice presidents named by Patrícia Amorim at her inauguration, only Marcos Braz, who has remained in the football field, has a history of recent stints on the board and a consistent presence in Flamengo's political life. However, the new faces don't mean an internal revolution. At least, that's the message from the club's new president. Patrícia avoided immediately changing the club's administrative structure, seeing the plan to have executives heading up each department as a medium-term solution, and, in her early days, says she has another priority: raising funds.
\
She inherits a club with debts exceeding R$300 million. From the 2010 budget, the club can count on almost none of the R$37 million TV fee. However, there is a commitment to results. And this is the equation to solve.
\
"Flamengo does have a large debt, yes. But revenue has also been growing significantly. The priority is to seek new money, but without creating new debt. We need to respect the budget, not make it a work of fiction. But, while we are focused on financial problems, the club needs to remain competitive and seek results," he said.
\
\ Salary still separates club and Angelim
\
Patrícia intends to have executive directors in key areas of the club. Marketing should be one of the first departments to gain a new professional, replacing Ricardo Hinrichsen. The same should happen in football, but only during the season.
\
"New management always creates a sense of insecurity among people, and that's quite normal. I wanted to avoid that. In football, we kept the vice president and the coaching staff," he recalled. "The professional executive would report to the vice president and myself. But the priority now is to maintain the team and strengthen it for the Libertadores. People need peace of mind to keep working."
\
\ Whenever she talks about raising funds, Patrícia Amorim remembers that the objective is\ to invest in improving teams and training conditions.
\
"Flamengo is a competitive club. It seeks results. It doesn't primarily seek profit. But we need to fulfill our commitments," said the president.
\
\ The first woman to lead a major club in Rio, Patrícia Amorim promises to set an example:
\
\ - It could be an athlete, a coach, or a manager. Everyone here will work hard.\ I say this because I'll set an example. I'll be the first to work hard for the club, and everyone will have to keep up with that pace.
\
After an inauguration ceremony that even included FIFA's honorary president, João Havelange, Patrícia sees a favorable environment for former athletes to take on leadership roles at Brazilian clubs. Coming from the pools like Havelange, she knows the magnitude of the challenge ahead of her in breaking down barriers and leading the country's most popular club. And she surprisingly admits that, at least at the beginning of her tenure, being a woman is helping her.
\
"It helps, yes. With your eyes, with your sensitivity. But it's not just because I'm a woman, but because I'm a former athlete who grew up at Flamengo and knows the club. I always say that the solution to Flamengo's problems lies within the club itself. We have a unique ability to develop players, coaches, and even directors," she stated.
\
In football, the always quiet renewal with Ronaldo Angelim is starting to cause concern. A considerable difference still separates Flamengo and the defender, whose asking price was considered surprisingly high by the directors. Executive director Eduardo Manhães, who has been leading the case, said he believes in the renewal.
\
"We want to keep him. But we haven't deviated from our policy in negotiating with Andrade, and we won't do so under any circumstances," he assured.

Léo Moura: once a "football gypsy" and now a reference on the Flamengo side

\ \

Victor Hugo Tavares -\ vtavares@jsports.com.br

\ \

\ \ \ \

Rio de Janeiro: Full-back Léo Moura could be considered a former football nomad. One of Flamengo's idols and a key figure in the club, he gained experience, established himself at the red-and-black team, and it seems he's not leaving. His resume is extensive, but the Gávea club has all the makings of being the last one he plans to play for.

\ \

Rejected by Flamengo when he was still a child, Léo Moura went to Botafogo's academy, where he began his career. From there, the current right-back played for many clubs in Brazil and around the world.

\ \

After leaving Alvinegro, Léo played for Germinal Beer (Belgium), ADO Den Haag (Netherlands), Vasco da Gama, Palmeiras (when they went to the second division), São Paulo, Fluminense, Sporting Braga (Portugal) and finally, Flamengo. In 2008, the full-back received the long-awaited call-up to the Brazilian National Team.

\ \

Among the titles he won at Flamengo are: Copa do Brasil (2006), Campeonato Carioca (2007,2008, 2009 and 2007), Taça Guanabara (2008 and 2009) and Taça Rio (XNUMX).

\ \

In 2009, Léo's spells varied. However, he crowned himself with Flamengo's sixth Brazilian Serie A title. The club hadn't won the competition in 17 years.

\ \

After so many destinations and clubs faced by the player, Léo Moura remains in the team in 2010, in the best "I'm here to stay" style. (VT)

Fasting at Flamengo's base\ with the days numbered

\ \

Rio de Janeiro: Accustomed to winning titles, Flamengo's youth academy players are facing a situation they haven't faced in a long time. Since winning the OPG Cup in 2007, the club hasn't won a trophy in the junior category. This year, the team competed in the Campeonato Carioca, the Belo Horizonte and Octávio Pinto Guimarães Cups, and the Brazilian Under-20 Championship, but ended up stumbling and failing to bring home any trophies.
\
But who said the kids are discouraged by these results? Quite the opposite. In defeats, they find motivation to make 2010 a year of glory for Flamengo's juniors. Vitor Saba, a versatile player who plays both as a midfielder and left-back, didn't hide his disappointment with recent results, but he assured: next year, that will change.
\
"It's high time we won titles. I, personally, am very sad about the lack of these achievements. Not only because I'm not winning, but also because I'm a Flamengo fan, and as a fan, I always want Flamengo to win. Next year has to be better," Saba told Flamengo's official website. (TV)

Obina returns to Gávea in 2010

\ \

Rio de Janeiro: Flamengo's vice president of football, Marcos Braz, announced this Thursday, in an interview with Rádio Bandeirantes, the return of Obina to the club. The striker was on loan to Palmeiras, but will return to the Rio de Janeiro club for the 2010 season.

\ \

"I have already determined that he (Obina) must report on January 5th along with the other players," he said.

\ \

Obina was the darling of the red-and-black fans in 2008. However, with a poor performance in the 2009 Campeonato Carioca, the player went to Palmeiras and had a good performance. His departure from the São Paulo club was due to a dispute with his teammate, defender Maurício. (VT)

For 2010, Flamengo wants Love

\ \

Rio de Janeiro: Flamengo's desire is to have Vagner Love in the 2010 squad. In order for the striker to form a duo with Adriano, the board is willing to release players.

\ \

"We can't give financial compensation, but there is the possibility of making an agreement with some Flamengo athlete. I think it's fair to release it and I don't see any kind of problem," commented the Flamengo vice-president, Marcos Braz, in an interview with Rádio Bandeirantes.

\ \

Braz still showed himself to be ethical and said that he has to wait for the end of Love's contract with Palmeiras.

\ \

"But I repeat: I have already made it very clear that Flamengo will only take a position on Vagner Love after his relationship with Palmeiras ends. If a separation is reached, Flamengo will do everything possible to ensure he can play for the club," he added. (VT)

Like Barça, Flamengo's basketball team is champion of everything

\ \

Raphael Bittencourt - rbittencourt@jsports.com.br

\ \

\ \ \ \

Rio de Janeiro:It's not Barcelona, or even football. It's Flamengo's basketball. Champion of everything in 2009. Just as the Spanish club won all six titles contested during the season, the Rubro-Negro also lifted every possible trophy this year.
\
The team began 2009 as the reigning Brazilian champion and four-time state champion. The first title of the year was international. By beating Quimsa in Argentina 98-96, Flamengo won the South American Basketball Championship for the third time in the club's history.
\
Next came the Novo Basquete Brasil. Just like in 2008, Flamengo and Brasília decided the national title, and once again, the trophy went to Gávea. After five thrilling games, the Red-Blacks won 3-2 and won their second title.
\
South American champion and two-time Brazilian champion. The easiest, but no less important, title of the year was still to come. Flamengo won its fifth Carioca championship undefeated by defeating Club Municipal 2-0 in the best-of-three final.
\
\ It's definitely going to be a very happy Christmas for any red-and-black fan, whether they're basketball or soccer fans. In addition to their basketball titles, the Rio de Janeiro team won their fifth state championship and their long-awaited sixth Brazilian championship on the field.

One is not enough! Flamengo wants the Carioca and Libertadores titles

\ \

Thiago Viana -\ tviana@jsports.com.br

\ \

Rio de Janeiro: Next season, Flamengo will compete in the State Championship and the Copa Libertadores in the first half of the year. However, for those who imagine the Flamengo board making plans to prioritize one of the tournaments over the other, coach Andrade is the first to reject such a statement.
\
"My intention is to prioritize the two competitions. We will use the youth team and give the young players an opportunity. I hope to have a defined group of 27 players for 2010," says the six-time Brazilian champion coach.

\ \

\ \

\ \

Dejan Petkovic: an idol at 37

\ \

Raphael Bittencourt - rbittencourt@jsports.com.br

\ \

\ \ \ \

Rio de Janeiro:\ Scorer of the winning goal in the fourth Carioca championship (1999/2000/2001), Petkovic\ is, without a doubt, one of the greatest idols in Flamengo's history. Also in 2001, the\ then number 10 scored the goal that secured the Champions Cup title in the\ final against São Paulo and led the team to the Libertadores.
\
The following year, disappointment struck. Even with an attack consisting of Pet, Alex, and Denílson, Flamengo couldn't advance past the first round of the international competition. And the foreigner continued his career far from Gávea. In Rio de Janeiro, Petkovic played for rivals Vasco and Fluminense and also excelled.
\
In the following years, the Serbian played in São Paulo, Goiás, and Minas Gerais. In 2008, he played for Atlético Mineiro and was only an option on the bench. In May 2009, Pet returned to Flamengo, and in his first interview, the foreigner said he was returning to help the team win its sixth Brazilian championship and its fourth state championship.
\
Many heard and few believed, but Petkovic kept the first part of his promise. With a string of games, the now number 43 regained his old form and led Flamengo to the Brazilian Championship title. The player scored eight goals and provided countless assists to his teammates.
\
At 37, Petkovic proved that there's no expiration date for a star player and demonstrated that, just as an older wine tastes better, an experienced player is essential to a team. However, just as a good wine shouldn't be consumed in excess, the foreigner is showing signs that he's not fit to play twice a week.
\
\ Therefore, Flamengo is looking for a player in that position so that Petkovic isn't overwhelmed with competing in the Carioca and the Copa Libertadores. The first option was Marquinhos, from Avaí, who played for the Red-Blacks in 2002. However, the player signed with Santos. There aren't many options at the same level as the Serbian, and the board better hurry. But it's important that they never doubt the ability of this star named Dejan Petkovic.

Bruno: from Atlético-MG's third goalkeeper to captain of the sixth

\ \

Raphael Bittencourt - rbittencourt@jsports.com.br

\ \

\ \ \ \

\ \ \ \ \ \ Rio de Janeiro: Every good goalkeeper needs luck to perform their job to the best of their ability on the field. And Bruno is no different. Loved and hated by the fans, the number 1 has experienced his ups and downs, but has always known how to bounce back until the day arrived when he lifted the Brazilian championship trophy as Flamengo's captain.

\ \

The goalkeeper's career began at Atlético-MG in the 2005 Brazilian Championship. Bruno only entered the field because starter Danrlei was suspended and reserve Diego was with the under-20 team. Despite the joy of his professional debut, the goalkeeper experienced the drama of relegation at the end of that championship.

\ \ \ \

In 2006, Bruno joined Corinthians, but his troubled relationship with the board meant the goalkeeper never even wore the club's jersey. Lucky for the goalkeeper, as Corinthians would also be relegated the following year.

\ \ \ \

\ Bruno arrived at Flamengo in the second half of 2006 to be a backup to Diego, who had been a starter in the Copa do Brasil title campaign that same year. However, soon after arriving at the club, Bruno had to replace Diego, who had suffered an injury. And once again, luck smiled on the goalkeeper.

\ \ \ \

In just over three years at the club, Bruno has already won four titles: the Carioca championship for the fifth time (2007/2008/209) and the Brazilian Championship in 2009. In the state championship, the goalkeeper was largely responsible for the 2007 and 2009 victories, saving important penalties in the penalty shootout. In the Brasileirão, Bruno was voted one of the best goalkeepers in the competition and lifted the champion's trophy as team captain.

\ \ \ \

In 2010, the goalkeeper's plans are even more ambitious. Bruno will be playing in his third Libertadores Cup with Flamengo and hopes that the sad and early eliminations in the round of 2007 won't be repeated like those of 2008 and 1. The goalkeeper, in fact, already has a history in the competition. It was in a match valid for the Libertadores Cup that the number XNUMX scored his first goal of his career.

\ \ \ \

In a match at the Maracanã against Coronel Bolognesi, from Peru, valid for the last round of the first phase of the competition, the 0-0 draw left Flamengo in second place in its group. But halfway through the second half, Bruno took a perfect free kick to lead his team to victory.

\ \ \ \

\ Bruno has already scored three goals for Flamengo, surpassing Ubirajara and Zé Carlos. The latter passed away this year and was honored by the goalkeeper in the match against Grêmio, which secured Flamengo's sixth championship.

Thiago Viana -\ tviana@jsports.com.br

\ \

Rio de Janeiro:Without a doubt, joy is the most striking feeling for Andrade at the end of this season. After escaping the stigma of being an interim coach, winning the Brazilian title, and receiving a well-deserved salary increase, the red-and-black manager could, as early as 2010, have a fit that would leave any rival fearful. He comments with great motivation on this possibility.
\
"Vagner Love is a Brazilian national team player. If he comes, we will have several good options for the sector. Together with Adriano, they will worry the opponents," guarantees the coach, who after the departure of Airton and the injury of Maldonado, expects the board to sign a defensive midfielder.
\
"We need a replacement for the midfield sector. We have had two important losses" concludes Andrade.

The official announcement of the agreement will take place in the coming days.

As expected, vice-president of football Marcos Braz confirmed the sale of Airton to Benfica. "The situation has changed significantly in the last two weeks and is much more advanced. Airton's move to Benfica is a in business well underway. Before the 1st he should appear in Lisbon", he said.

Love closer to Fla

\ \

Andrade already projects a duo between the love striker and Adriano

\ \ \ \

Rio - In the next few days, the negociação between Vágner Love and the Flamengo must advance. The attacker informed Palmeiras that he no longer wishes to remain at the club. The São Paulo team is asking for compensation consultant, which should come from the new sponsorship. Andrade is already planning the attacking duo that could be formed by Adriano and Love.

\ \

"To replace Zé Roberto, we're counting on Love. He and Adriano can play together, yes. It's quite possible. We just need to make a small adjustment in positioning," said the coach. The team will return on the 4th for preseason.

Flamengo agrees to transfer players to Palmeiras to have Love

\ \

\

\ \

Rio - Vagner Love is indeed the striker desired by Flamengo to form an attacking duo with Adriano in the 2010 Copa Libertadores. And to count on Palmeiras' number 9, the red-black board admits the possibility of loaning athletes from the Brazilian champion group to the São Paulo team.

\ \

"We can't give financial compensation, but there is the possibility of making an agreement with some Flamengo athlete. I think it's fair to release it and I don't see any kind of problem," commented the vice-president of Flamengo, Marcos Braz, in interview for Radio Bandeirantes.

\ \

At the same time as he made a point of emphasizing that he will not negotiate with Love until the athlete decides to leave Palmeiras, Braz wanted to show ethics by refusing to disclose which players would be made available for Palmeiras to choose from to make up the transaction.

\ \

"I wouldn't like to get involved in this action and say whether he would be a starting player or not, especially since we are the Brazilian champions. I prefer to wait for Palmeiras to contact me so they can talk about the players," warned the vice president of the Rio team.

\ \

"But I repeat: I have already made it very clear that Flamengo will only take a position on Vagner Love after his relationship with Palmeiras ends. If a separation is reached, Flamengo will do everything possible to ensure he can play for the club," he added.

\ \

The confidence in having Love alongside Adriano in 2010 was evident when Braz was asked if the player's desire to play in Rio could determine the success of the negotiation. He used a recent example to support his argument.

\ \

"In modern football, the player's will prevails. I feel very comfortable saying this because of Aírton, who was a boy with future brilliant at Flamengo, but who personally asked me to leave. From that point on, I treated the negociação and he is sold", he concluded, citing the midfielder's transaction with Benfica, from Portugal.

Flamengo removes Rodrigo Souto and marks Obina's return

\ \

\
Rio de Janeiro - RJ)

\ \

Although midfielder Rodrigo Souto has revealed his desire to play for Flamengo, the Gávea club was not very excited about the possibility of signing him and practically ruled out a deal with the Santos player. According to the club's vice president of football, Marcos Braz, the player's requested salary is "out of line with the institution's reality."

\ \

"With all due respect that I have for the player, it will not be possible to bring Rodrigo Souto due to his salary. He is not close to the financial reality that Flamengo intends to continue adopting in 2010", said the director, in an interview given to Radio Bandeirantes.

\ \

Marcos Braz took the opportunity to confirm the return of striker Obina to Ninho do Urubu. Released from Palmeiras after exchanging blows with defender Maurício, in the middle of a match against Grêmio, the legendary player already has a date set to land in Rio de Janeiro again: January 5th.

\ \

"I have already determined that he (Obina) must appear on January 5th along with the others players", sentenced Marcos Braz.

Defender Ronaldo Angelim scored the goal against Grêmio that gave Fla its sixth Brazilian title

\ \

\ \

Ronaldo Angelim gained significant attention at the end of Flamengo's sporting year because it was with his goal that the fans celebrated their sixth Brazilian championship. However, the defender has not yet renewed his contract. This fact could have worried the Flamengo fans, but the club's vice president of football, Marcos Braz, tried to reassure them.

\ \

The manager explained that the player has not yet been approached to discuss his renewal because December is proving to be an unusual month. During that period, Andrade's team won the Brazilian Championship, club elections were held, celebrations in honor of the victory continued, and the players took advantage of their vacations to travel to their hometowns.

\ \

Angelim was one of them. "Papada," a nickname given to him by his teammates, took advantage of his free time to visit his family in Juazeiro do Norte. In the city of Ceará, the defender was warmly welcomed by local residents and even received a tribute from the mayor, Raimundo Santana Neto.

\ \

"Regarding the renewal of Angelim and other players whose contracts are ending at the end of the month, I believe they will extend their contracts without any problem. We haven't renewed with them yet because December is being an atypical month. We were six-time Brazilian champions, we received many tributes and there were even elections at the club," said Marcos Braz, in an interview with UOL Esporte.

\ \

Besides Ronaldo Angelim, another key player in Andrade's scheme whose contract is about to expire is Everton. The midfielder played a key role in a few Brazilian Championship matches but fractured his foot in the final stretch of the competition. His name was even speculated to be joining Tigres in Mexico. However, the likelihood is that he will remain at Gávea.

Zico\ says that Rio de Janeiro football needs to be respected

\ \

\ \

Fans of Rio de Janeiro clubs ended the sporting year in ecstasy. Flamengo was crowned Brazilian champion and Vasco won Série B. Meanwhile, Fluminense and Botafogo made a significant comeback in the final stretch of the Campeonato Nacional and avoided relegation. Zico, the club's greatest idol in history, celebrated the momentum experienced by the teams from the Marvelous City. However, he doesn't see the situation as a snooze for other clubs.

\ \

"We can't just look at it that way. Rio de Janeiro football needs to be respected for its entire history. I believe the directors need a shock to wake up," said Galinho.

\ \

The current coach of Olympiacos, from Greece, stated that he does not accept seeing big clubs with the tradition of Botafogo, Flamengo, Fluminense and Vasco, fighting to avoid relegation. He believes that this situation cannot be a constant, as it has been happening every year.

\ \

"I believe the directors agreed because it was necessary. We can't have one team fighting for the title and three fighting to avoid relegation. I wouldn't like to see a club from the city in the second division again. The fight against relegation can't be a constant," he said.

\ \

Zico is the organizer of the so-called All-Star Game, which takes place this Sunday at 17 p.m. at the Maracanã. In this festive match, fans will be able to see in action athletes who wear or have worn the shirts of Rio's biggest clubs. Gottardo, Zinho, Alcindo, Renato Gaúcho, Tita Nunes, Leonardo Moura, Ibson and Carlos Alberto are some of the players who have confirmed their presence.

Everything is ready for the inauguration of the statue of Zico, the greatest idol in the history of Flamengo and one of the greatest names in world football.  The ceremony, closed to the public, will take place on Saturday at 19 p.m. at the Maracanã Hall of Fame. The work, sculpted by set designer Abel Gomes, will show Quintino's Galinho volleying.

\ \

\ \

Abel Gomes, who also designed the Christmas tree at Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas and participated in the opening ceremony of the Pan American Games, explained that his idea was to break with the traditional form of statues in which the player is almost always shown standing still with the ball at his feet. The sculpture, on a curved base, will give the impression of Zico floating in the air to strike the ball.

\ \

\
The State Government, through the Department of Tourism, Sports and Leisure, is closing a partnership with the Zico Football Center (CFZ), to leverage projects aimed at underprivileged communities, such as "Suderj em Forma".  According to Secretary Marcia\ Lins  Young people who stand out within the project will be sent to the club, but it will be up to their parents or guardians to continue the boys' careers.

Pet had a great season in 2009

\ \

Highlight of Flamengo After winning the 2009 Brazilian Championship, midfielder Petkovic once again stated that he has not yet set a date to retire. At 37, the player showed throughout the season that he can still be decisive on the field. And he said that he will continue his career mainly to bring joy to the red-and-blacks.
\
"It would be unfair to the fans. I'm staying at Flamengo. And I'm not even setting a deadline to stop. I'll play as long as I can be one of the best," said the midfielder, in an interview with the Portuguese newspaper 'O Jogo'.
\
Before the Brasileirão, the Serbian arrived at Gávea under suspicion from many at the club and a good portion of the fans. Little by little, he earned his place in the starting lineup and began sharing the starring role with top scorer Adriano. Despite the controversy surrounding his signing, he explains that he always had confidence in his football.
\
\ - It was a very turbulent return. I bet on myself when I came back,\ risking the idolatry I already had, but, with a lot of overcoming, everything ended\ wonderfully.
\
\ Despite being in a great phase in his career, Petkovic feels he no longer has a place in the\ Serbian national team. But he asks for his country's recognition with a festive match.
\
- At 37 years old, and without playing in the qualifying phase, it wouldn't be fair to ask for a call-up for the World Cup. But a friendly match, after the World Cup, I think I deserve that.
\
\ With a 'globalized' heart, Pet reveals that he will support at least four\ teams in the 2010 World Cup. And, of course, Brazil is among them.

\ \

\ \

- I support Serbia and Brazil, but also Spain, because one of my daughters was born there, and Italy, where the other was born - concluded the red-black idol.

\ \

Aired in recent days as one of the possible reinforcements of Flamengo for the 2010 season, midfielder Rodrigo Souto was discarded by the red-black board. Vice-president of football Marcos Braz stated that he never intended to count on the player from Santos next year.

\ \

\ \

- There isn't the slightest possibility, in terms of salary. With all due respect I have for the player, he's not even close to Flamengo's salary policy for 2010. And he was never offered to us - said Braz, in an interview with Rádio Bandeirantes.

\ \

\ \

After winning its sixth Brazilian championship, Flamengo began negotiations to keep its main players for the 2010 season. To date, the board has not agreed to sign any reinforcements.

Love's future remains undefined

\ \

The soap opera about Vagner Love's fate next year continues at a slow pace. Still not knowing where he will play in 2010, the athlete dreams of defending the Flamengo in the Copa Libertadores and with a spot in the World Cup. Aware of the athlete's desire, CSKA, the Russian club that holds his rights, views the striker's change of scenery positively, after the player's incident with three fans palmeirenses.

\ \

\ \

Love was involved in a dispute with three men in the final stretch of the Brazilian Championship, who questioned his performance at Palmeiras. The athlete and fans exchanged punches and kicks, and soon after the end of the national competition, Love declared that he did not want to remain at the São Paulo club and expressed interest in joining Flamengo. Upon learning of this, the Gávea team began trying to sign the athlete, who is on loan with the São Paulo club until mid-2010.

\ \

\ \

When Palmeiras agreed to the player's return at the end of August of this year, they waived to the Russian club 5% of the 10% it would be entitled to if Vagner Love were sold to another club. At the time, football director Savério Orlandi also stated that Palmeiras would cover the striker's salary alone. These could be reasons why Palmeiras wants compensation, as it could lose a player before the end of his contract – the contract runs until mid-2010.
\
"CSKA hasn't spoken to Palmeiras, it's just taken the first steps to see what will happen. I spoke to Vagner Love and he told me he wants to stay and try to get a spot in the World Cup. He said he'll keep fighting and fighting. Sometimes a small disaster from a teammate can be his lucky break. He doesn't think he can stay in São Paulo anymore and would combine business with pleasure (moving to Flamengo)," said Dionísio Castro in an interview with Rádio Jovem Pan.

\ \

\ \

The CSKA representative made it clear that the Russian club is very concerned about the athlete's situation in the country. According to him, Love is aware of his team's desire to have him back in the squad for the Champions League.

\ \

\ \

"I spoke with him and his agent (Evandro Ferreira) and expressed my interest in his return, but he doesn't want to because he has his own goals. Unfortunately, the incident happened, and the player is worried because of the severe attacks and threats against his family. We need to resolve this quickly for the good of the player and the teams," he said.

Vagner Love\ continues in Fla's plans for 2010

The board of directors\ of Flamengo wants to count on Vagner Love in 2010. The striker wants to wear the red and black shirt next year.
