Of the six vice presidents named by Patrícia Amorim at her inauguration, only Marcos Braz, who has remained in the football field, has a history of recent stints on the board and a consistent presence in Flamengo's political life. However, the new faces don't mean an internal revolution. At least, that's the message from the club's new president. Patrícia avoided immediately changing the club's administrative structure, seeing the plan to have executives heading up each department as a medium-term solution, and, in her early days, says she has another priority: raising funds.

She inherits a club with debts exceeding R$300 million. From the 2010 budget, the club can count on almost none of the R$37 million TV fee. However, there is a commitment to results. And this is the equation to solve.

"Flamengo does have a large debt, yes. But revenue has also been growing significantly. The priority is to seek new money, but without creating new debt.
