This Tuesday (November 02.11nd) at 20 p.m., in a ceremony to be held at the club's headquarters, Flamengo will honor members who received honorary status in 2014. Each honorary status represents a specific period of outstanding service. Emeritus members are honored for a period of five years or more. From that point on, they can become benefactors by serving the club for five or more years. Grand benefactors have ten or more years of service after receiving the honorary status.

Yesterday, before the Board of Directors meeting, President Eduardo Bandeira de Melo met with some of the honorees for a small celebration. On the occasion, a shirt was presented with each of their names and the honor they received.

In 2014, the honorary members are:

1 - Arthur Virgilio Neto – Mayor of Manaus, former Senator of the Republic and former Chief Minister of the Civil House;

2 - Virgílio Deloy Capobianco Gibbon – Financial Director of Estácio Participações, which has been helping Flamengo's Basketball and Olympic Sports through support via incentivized projects;

3 - José Teixeira Fernandes – President of the TJD – RJ

4 – Christine Fernandes Alves – Actress and former Volleyball player at the Club, who has helped immensely in attracting sponsors, in events and in promoting the club’s programs on social media;

5 - Marcius Vinícius de Assis Melhem – Actor, who makes a great contribution to the club by providing his image for advertisements for the Fan Member programs, for attracting sponsorships and for promoting the club's programs on social media;

6 – Eduardo Parente – Former president of the company MRS Logística, on which occasion he supported Olympic Sports (Judo and Gymnastics) through sponsorship via incentivized projects;

7 - Fernando Basualdo – President of Adidas Brazil, who provides invaluable assistance in the internationalization of the Flamengo brand.
