The Soccerex Global Convention concluded this Wednesday (November 28.11), and Flamengo's booth, set up there, launched Fla Camp as the club's final event event. Fla Camp is a themed summer camp that will create a soccer team-focused environment for children who support Brazil's Most Beloved. The product was presented by Henrique Brandão, the club's vice president of marketing, and Marcos Duarte, executive director of marketing.

"It's a summer camp, where the main focus is sports. They'll be supervised by Flamengo professionals. It's a really cool program and open to fans from all over Brazil. Just visit the website and sign up. It's the first of several to come. In fact, in the middle of next year, during the July holidays, we should have the second edition," says Henrique.

The Fla Camp will be held at Espaço Lonier in Vargem Pequena, Rio de Janeiro, from January 14 to 19, 2013. Participants will attend soccer training sessions and, in their free time, enjoy recreational activities, including a water park, game room, and educational competitions. Players and former players will give lectures at the camp. The children will be supervised by club professionals and will also be observed by Flamengo soccer staff.

Striker Nixon, who moved up from the Mengão youth team to the senior team this year, attended the launch of Fla Camp and spoke about the importance of the program.

"It's really cool. Not just me, but all the players have always wanted to play for a great team. I see it as a good opportunity for these kids and teenagers, who will have this pleasure and privilege. They end up understanding what the atmosphere is like in football. Not just on the field, but in the training camps and games," says Nixon, 20, who was born in the interior of Bahia.

Fla Camp has two registration plans: full-time, where the participant will spend the night at the camp, and part-time, where they must arrive at 8 am and return home at 17:30 pm.
