Yesterday, July 6th, the Globo Esportivo program on Rádio Globo welcomed two of the 10 winners of the Camisa do Adriano Cultural Contest, an initiative by Flamengo, with the support of the broadcaster.
In possession of their awards, Luiz Henrique Moreira Sayão and Jorge Souza dos Santos were quickly interviewed live by the presenter and narrator José Carlos Araújo, known as Garotinho.
A resident of the Ilha do Governador neighborhood, Sayão won the contest with the phrase "Number 9 has always been important in Mengão's Brazilian titles: Nunes twice, Bebeto four times, and Gaúcho five times. To win six titles, we need a number nine." Since he works at Petrobras and would be flying out on Tuesday, July 7th, he chose to go to the radio station early and receive part of his prize (the number 1 and 2 game uniforms, complete and autographed) later, upon his return from his fortnight away from Rio de Janeiro. Sayão left the station with Flamengo prizes, including a series of DVDs, and Rádio Globo prizes (a soccer ball, a battery-powered radio, and a T-shirt).
Jorge Souza dos Santos, a resident of Rio's Urca neighborhood, received his "Emperor of Rio" shirt from Braziline, a Flamengo merchandise gift set, and a Radio Globo gift set. He is the author of one of the 10 licensed phrases: "The number 10 is a bow and arrow athlete (waiter and killer), and Flamengo already has a King, Zico. Adriano is a number 9, the one who rules the penalty area."
The Adriano Shirt Cultural Contest was held between June 18th and 26th. There were 33.945 messages, of which shirt number 9 received 20.346 submissions, while number 10 received only 13.599. The prizes for the other eight winners will be sent soon by mail.
