At an extraordinary meeting held in the Main Hall of the Gávea headquarters on Thursday night, Flamengo's Deliberative Council unanimously approved the new master sponsorship contract with P&G brands Duracell and Gillette. This Friday at 10:30 AM, in the Rogerio Steinberg Auditorium, at the Gávea headquarters, a press conference will be held to present the new partner and the new shirt.

With an investment of 6,6 million, the contract, valid until December 2011, gives the right to the logos on the game uniforms, training uniforms, the club's backdrop and advertising boards at the Training Center. The team will wear the new shirt in this Sunday's match (August 14th) against Figueirense, at 08 pm, in Florianópolis.

"This is another plan that is part of a larger project, which we call 'I Support Rio.' The partnership with Flamengo is an important step among many others in support of the city of Rio de Janeiro," says José Cirilo, Gillette's Marketing Director.

Current state champion and second in the Brazilian league table, with the largest fan base in the country, Flamengo is one of the teams that best reflects this relationship, going beyond the limits of sporting practice.

"We are taking another important step in enhancing the Flamengo brand. This is the beginning of a great partnership that has everything it needs to be long-lasting. We will have on our jersey another brand with the size and grandeur that Flamengo deserves," said CRF president Patricia Amorim.

Duracell recently launched a new slogan – Moments that Last Longer. The campaign's concept is strongly linked to the passion for soccer. "When consumers look for a product bearing our brand, they're actually looking to prolong the important moments of their lives as much as possible, capturing them in photos, enjoying a video game with their children, or listening to a replay of the goal scored by 'Brazil's Most Beloved' on the radio, for example," explains Thiago Icassati, Duracell's Marketing Director.
