As has been the case for three years and has become a tradition, Mother's Day was celebrated in style on Tuesday morning (May 15.05) at Gávea headquarters. Around 80 employees were welcomed by president Patricia Amorim in the club's main hall for a hearty and delicious breakfast. The party included a raffle of officially licensed gifts and was supported by the marketing department and Fla-Gávea. Amorim was also in attendance at the event, including former president George Helal and Fla-Gávea vice-president Cacau Cotta.

"Wow, I won a really chic official jersey, number 10. I loved my number drawn by the president. I'm going to the basketball game with her today, happy. It's a hot day," celebrated Danielle de Castro, an employee of the Olympic sports department.

Rosana Ramos de Oliveira, a security guard at the Club, was one of the winners at the event.

"I've already received gifts the other two times the president honored me. I received a beautiful ashtray and a towel that will make my home even more beautiful. A very nice initiative by our president, Patricia Amorim."

After breakfast, the red-black leader did the honors of the house with another beautiful and firm speech, thanking everyone for their presence.

"First of all, I'd like to thank all of you women, most of you mothers, for being here and dedicating your time to Flamengo. Only we who are mothers know how difficult it is to balance family, children, and work. And that's exactly why we've made a point of celebrating this day with you for three years. Thank you for your dedication and for helping to make Flamengo better. I extend my gratitude," said president Patricia Amorim.
