Celebration day for Flamengo's 118th anniversary
Children's recreation, mass, flag raising, football matches and a samba circle liven up the celebrations at the social headquarters

Friday (15.11/118) was a lively day at the Gávea clubhouse. Due to Flamengo's 8th anniversary celebration, the club was packed, and many members and big Flamengo fans enjoyed the program put together to celebrate the occasion. From XNUMX a.m. until late afternoon, there was no shortage of activities to honor the Most Beloved.
"I'm very happy with the date. The club is full and even my kids are there on the field playing soccer. Congratulations to Flamengo and all the red-and-blacks, who always support our teams," said president Eduardo Bandeira de Mello.
The day officially opened at 8 a.m., when President Bandeira de Mello presided over the raising of the Flamengo, Rio de Janeiro, and Brazilian flags at Remo's headquarters. After singing the Flamengo anthem, everyone headed inside the clubhouse, where Father Magno continued the celebrations, celebrating a mass attended by the illustrious fan Dona Zica.
While Mass was being celebrated, the children's entertainment began in the playground area. Many children enjoyed themselves under the guidance of the entertainers and were enchanted by Magician Marlone's magic show.
At the same time, still in the morning, the sequence of games began at the Gávea field. First, the Flamengo Masters team and the Sócio-Torcedor Selection faced off. Then, a kickabout between artists was organized; and finally, Belo Futebol Clube (a pagode singing team) played against some members.
"Our game was really cool. It's a pleasure to play with the Flamengo Masters team here at the Gávea field on the anniversary of the club we love so much," said Adílio, who was presented with a trophy by the club's members.
In the afternoon, two activities concluded the day of celebrations. At 15:30 p.m., the semifinal of the U-13 State Championship between Flamengo and Botafogo took place at the Gávea field. The Flamengo boys won by a landslide: 4-1; on aggregate, 7-1 for the red-and-blacks, who are through to the final. To close the festivities, at 17 p.m., a samba circle with Gabriel Cavalcante, known as Gabriel da Muda, and friends took place on the pool pergola.
