Today, October 28th, is the feast day of Saint Jude Thaddeus, the patron saint of Flamengo. Today also marks the first FLAMENGO FAN DAY. Congratulations to all Flamengo fans!

Rio de Janeiro Mayor César Maia declared Flamengo Fan Day on October 17th. The day dedicated to Flamengo fans will be celebrated on October 28th, the same day as Flamengo's patron saint, Saint Jude Thaddeus.

Authored by councilor Jorge Mauro, "Flamengo Fan's Day" came into effect on Monday the 15th, thus becoming part of the official calendar of the city of Rio de Janeiro.

A CNT/Sensus survey showed that Flamengo is the soccer team with the largest fan base in the country. The Gávea club leads the rankings with 14,4% of Brazilian fans.
