International Women's Day, celebrated this Thursday (March 08.03), did not go unnoticed at Flamengo. All female members who were at Gávea were presented with a red rose. The club's female employees also received a specially made t-shirt. The tribute was conceived by president Patricia Amorim and executed by vice president of administration and Fla-Gávea, Cacau Cotta.

"Today is a festive day for us women. I don't usually miss out on celebrating important dates, because I think they should be remembered and celebrated in some way. And today couldn't be any different. After all, it's our day. Nothing more fair than praising those who are by our side every day, making Flamengo happen. A club led by a woman needs to honor its female employees," said Patricia Amorim, followed by Cacau Cotta.

"The Rubro-Negras employees are essential to the club. This is a well-deserved tribute to all these women who help us with Flamengo's daily operations," said Cacau.

The employees praised the initiative.

Having worked in the club's general services department for just nine months, Veronica Alves was thrilled with the tribute.

"I've never received such an honor at any company I've worked for. I thought the initiative was very beautiful and I was surprised," she said.

Denise, mother of a swimming athlete, also approved the gesture.

"Flamengo's initiative to honor women is really cool. I was very happy with the recognition," she said.
