Flamengo board members met with 26 members this Friday morning (August 16.08) in the Moreira Leite Room at the Gávea headquarters. In addition to President Eduardo Bandeira de Mello, also present were Vice President of Legal Affairs Flávio Willeman and Claudio Prakownik, Vice President of Administration and Fla-Gávea. For two and a half hours, everyone present informally discussed the club's most important matters. The goal was to provide full transparency into the club's management to members.

"I was very happy with the experience, which began today. It should be repeated, as the participation of the members was excellent. They asked us many questions, answered doubts, and made many contributions. What was achieved here is very important and shows that Flamengo fans can contribute not only with love, but with ideas as well," said the club's president.

The directors were open to answering any questions. Virtually all members present asked questions, which were clearly clarified by Flamengo's directors. The main topics discussed were: the current status of the soccer team, the infrastructure of the clubhouse and training center, the relationship with the Maracanã Consortium, and the management of the club's debts.

The members heard from the president that the vice-president of football is already working to retain midfielder Elias, whose contract runs until the end of the year. Furthermore, among many other matters, it was made clear that any negotiations with the Maracanã Consortium will be exhaustive until the final contract is ideal for Flamengo and that the club prioritizes paying off its debts to recover. All suggestions and ideas presented by members were noted. In fact, some members volunteered to contribute as labor for the execution of club projects.

The 30 spots for the next meeting are already filled, and there is a waiting list for future meetings, with dates to be determined. In June 2013, Flamengo also innovated by hosting an informal meeting between President Bandeira de Mello and seven Flamengo bloggers.
