Today we publish a photograph of part of Flamengo's board of directors in the early 60s. It features Fadel Fadel, who was president of the club for more than one term, from 1961 to 1966.

The group in the photo is made up of young Alex Molina (note the portable radio "Spica" in his hands), Aristeu Duarte, Ox Drumond, Fadel Fadel, Álvaro Sá, the "old" Dr. D' and J. Madeira.

The water park and tennis courts would be built at the back of the land.

In white, the wall that surrounded the club's land, only completed in the early 60s.

Around this time, the State of Rio de Janeiro built the underground boat garage on the banks of the Lagoon, in exchange for the land for the passage of Borges de Medeiros Avenue, in its section between the Monte Líbano Club, AABB, Paissandú Club and the Lagoa Rowing Stadium.

Although not very clear, the Jardim Botânico region can still be seen with very few buildings.

In photograph 1/2, probably from 1958, you can see a group of Flamengo players training on the Gávea field, next to the small stand that was opposite the larger stand.

Note that there wasn't even a fence separating the fans from the field.

Those were more civilized times, for sure.
