This Friday (December 23.12) was a special day for all Flamengo employees. At their celebration party, held at the club's nautical headquarters, plenty of samba, hugs, photos, and toasts set the tone for the lively celebration. With the presence of president Patricia Amorim, the club's vice presidents, coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo, and idols Andrade, Adílio, and Julio Cesar "Uri Geller," the party moved the employees, who excitedly danced samba and enjoyed a delicious barbecue provided by the club.

Employees from all departments of the club were present at the party. All sports were also represented by coaches and members of the technical staff. Between prize draws and music from the Mangueira drum section, the red-and-black fans chatted and had fun, exchanging ideas about what they love most: Flamengo.

Happy with her success in 2011, Patricia Amorim shared smiles and signed autographs, as well as taking photos with employees. Her name was shouted and she received a standing ovation upon arriving at the venue.

"We did our part, and 2011 was very good. Last year, at the party, which was also great, we knew we'd had a difficult year, with many surprises. This year was much better, and I know it will be even better in 2012. I really like Flamengo. I was an athlete and an employee before becoming president. I've always dreamed of seeing the club do much better. It's still far from my dream, but we're making progress. I want to thank the employees who helped me make Flamengo better," said Patricia Amorim, before remembering.

\

"What I set out to do was motivate a little more, and you (employees) responded well. We're all one team. With your help, I can be everywhere. I know my life seems a bit crazy, but I think I have to be present. I'm there for the victories, but I'm also there for the defeats. I'll never hide. Flamengo is my fuel. When it improves, I improve too," the president said emotionally.

The highlight of the afternoon was the drawing for a 2011 Renault Clio. The car arrived at the venue driven by the president herself. The master of ceremonies was the reporter and comedian Smigol, who excitedly announced the car's winner with his signature "Ê laiá" chant. The prize went to the club's general services employee, Sebastiana Claudina da Silva, who was thrilled and celebrated the victory.

The party was organized by Flamengo's Vice President of Administration and Social Affairs, Cacau Cotta and his team.

"We worked hard to have a good 2011 and we will continue working even harder. Merry Christmas and a good 2012. We will continue working hard, because the one who will benefit from this is Flamengo," concluded president Patricia Amorim.
