They say being a Flamengo fan runs in the blood and is passed down from father to son, but every rule has its exception. Lúcio Rimes, a regular at Maracanã since childhood, proves that the opposite can happen. Son of Marcílio Rimes, a former América player, Lúcio was tasked with passing on his love for the "Mais Querido" to his father.

With the birth of his son, Marcílio had to don his fan jersey and start watching the matches of the "Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved). What began almost as a paternal duty has become a pleasure. Today, the 61-year-old father and 28-year-old son come together on Sundays to cheer on Flamengo at Maracanã.

Fans, Lúcio and Marcílio recount several emotional moments they've experienced together at Mário Filho, from the most recent to the most ancient. "Pet's goal in the third Rio de Janeiro championship is unforgettable. Another memory we have are the Rio de Janeiro Championship victories we've seen together. There are hard-fought victories and others thrilling, like the one with Adriano's goal in the 5-3 victory against Fluminense. But the most memorable moment, without a doubt, was when the entire red-and-black fans jumped and sang in the rain, in the middle of a match, and my father and I were there together," said Lúcio, alongside his father.

This Sunday (August 10.08), the best gift any father could receive to celebrate his day is undoubtedly a Flamengo victory. But it's likely that Marcílio has already received the greatest gift from his son: being one of the most beloved fans of the club. "I just wanted to say that he's the best Flamengo father in the world. And that he raised a man who will also have a son with Flamengo's DNA, named Arthur; the name of our king," concluded Lúcio.
