Flamengo achieved another victory in the "Tropa das Bolinhas" case this Tuesday (24.01). The 18th Civil Chamber of Rio de Janeiro ruled against São Paulo's appeal against the decision that had determined the return of the trophy to Caixa Econômica Federal.
Tuesday's decision went even further and considered a possible new appeal by the Tricolor as an act of bad faith, and if this occurs, a fine could be applied to the São Paulo club.
This was another victory for Flamengo in the ongoing dispute surrounding the Taça das Bolinhas (Balls Cup). Since taking over as president of Flamengo, president Patricia Amorim has been fighting to keep the trophy at Gávea, as the club won the Brazilian First Division in 1987.
