The partnership agreement between Flamengo and Ambev was approved last Tuesday (08.06), by a majority vote, by the club's Deliberative Council. In a vote, held in the main hall of Gávea, the councilors agreed to the beverage manufacturer's proposal, which will generate R$9,6 million in four years.
According to Flamengo's board, all the money will be invested in improvements to the club's assets. The funds will primarily go toward completing Module 10 of the club's Training Center, Ninho do Urubu. This part of the training center includes the following facilities: youth soccer accommodation and services, and accommodation for external delegations.
The 'block' will be built with two floors, divided into three wings. The first will have accommodations, a cafeteria, support and administrative offices for resident and non-resident youth football players. The second will have all the support infrastructure for wings I and III, such as a kitchen, pantries, general services, and staff, while the third will have accommodations, a cafeteria, support and administrative offices for external delegations and, if necessary, professional football.
"It's new money that we're bringing to the club and that will be invested primarily in our Training Center," said Flamengo's Vice President of Marketing, Henrique Brandão.
According to the agreement between the parties, Ambev will open at least five Flamengo-themed bars per year outside of Rio de Janeiro. Additionally, the company will assist in the renovation of all five bars in Gávea and help promote the Flamengo brand.
In return, Ambev will be able to use the club's image in advertisements, promotions and beverage cans and will have the right to space on football backdrops.
