It wasn't easy, but Flamengo managed to beat Vasco 3-2 in the semi-final of the Beach Soccer World Cup, this Friday (May 18.05th), in Guarapiranga (SP). Now, for the title, the red-and-black team will face Lokomotiv, from Russia, this Saturday at 10:15 am, with live broadcast on TV Globo.
The hero of the game, Bernardo, who scored twice for Flamengo (Benjamin completed the scoring), points to the 'attitude' as the strong point of the red-and-black team, which came from behind to win the match.
"It's a classic, decided by the details. We knew how to take advantage of our opportunities and achieve victory. We conceded a goal early on, and we know how difficult it is to turn a game around on the sand, but I played well, scored two goals, and helped the team. The game against Lokomotiv will be difficult. We will have to go onto the court with the same attitude and focus from the beginning to the end of the match," said Bernardo.
Still unaware that this match would decide the World Cup, Flamengo's beach soccer team played a friendly against Lokomotiv almost two weeks ago, in preparation for the championship. The match was held at Arena da Gávea, at Flamengo's social headquarters, and the result was 7-5 for Flamengo.
