Following a tradition that began with Father Góes in the 1950s and 60s, Flamengo celebrated the day of its patron saint, Saint Jude Thaddeus, the saint of impossible causes, and also Flamengo Fan Day, with a mass at Gávea. Members, fans, directors, and president Patricia Amorim attended the ceremony, which took place in the early evening of this Thursday.

The Flamengo president was moved by the celebration and took the opportunity to congratulate all Flamengo fans on the commemorative date.

"It's a special day for all Flamengo fans, not just for me. I'm very happy about it, and I take this opportunity to send a big hug to everyone and also to come here and ask for strength from our patron saint, who will surely help us, as he always has. Flamengo is not in a desperate situation, it hasn't entered the relegation zone in any round, and we are sure that the team will finish the Brazilian Championship well," he stated.

Father Benedito, who is also accustomed to visiting the club, spoke about the importance of this celebration and recalled that the tradition, which began 60 years ago, has brought good results for everyone.

"We are continuing a tradition that began a long time ago, which brought victories to Flamengo and was also important for Saint Jude, because many fans started to help. If today there is a temple for him in Cosme Velho, it is largely because of that," said "Bené," recalling that Saint Jude has already helped Flamengo this year.

"The last time I was here, thanks to God and Saint Jude Thaddeus, the team started to improve. Hopefully, we can continue this momentum and climb the table in this final stretch of the championship," he added.
