Fla-Flu will be honored on its 100th anniversary
The party will be at the classic on July 8th, at Engenhão, and there will be a festive preliminary game with artists and former players.

One of the most charming classics in world football celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2012. Fla-Flu, which has even become an expression, created by the late red-and-black Mário Filho, will reach this impressive milestone on July 7, 2012. Therefore, one day later, when Flamengo x Fluminense will be played, valid for the Brasileirão, at Engenhão, a party will be held, with a special preliminary and electric trios.
Kicking off the centennial celebrations, two large photo panels are now available at the Globo Rio Kiosk on Copacabana Beach. Flamengo pays tribute to the red-and-black team that won the 1981 World Cup. On the panels, fans can be part of history by taking photos in a space dedicated to the 12th player—the fans.
At the classic match at Engenhão on the 8th, the centennial tribute begins even before the whistle blows. Stars who made history at the clubs and artists from the red-and-black and tricolor teams will participate in a festive preliminary match at 14:20 p.m., before the official Brazilian Championship match. There will be two 20-minute halves with a 10-minute break.
Before the match begins, each Flamengo and Fluminense player will receive a commemorative medal, with the two clubs' crests engraved in the center. The goal is to foster a peaceful and celebratory atmosphere between the two teams.
The tribute will resume with much excitement during halftime of the "Clássico das Muldões." A float in the colors of both teams will perform a lap of honor around the stadium. Tricolor singer Paulo Ricardo and red-and-black Preta Gil will liven up the celebration with the fans' favorite chants, as well as soccer-related music.
At the end of the match, the club presidents will receive the "Two Brothers Trophy," created especially for the occasion. Each half of the trophy will be in memory of two special fans: Flamengo journalist Mario Filho and Tricolor writer Nelson Rodrigues.
It's worth remembering that in nearly 100 years of history, Flamengo has more wins than its rival. In total, there were 389 matches, with 138 Flamengo wins, 128 draws, and 123 losses.
