Fla prepares flag for Diego Hypolito

In Beijing, Diego Hypolito will have a surprise when he opens his email inbox. There will be a photo of the flag that Flamengo fans, under the leadership of Vice President of Olympic Sports Patrícia Amorim, made for the gymnast.

The tribute was broadcast Monday afternoon in Gávea. The children from the Rubro-Negro gymnastics school wished their famous colleague luck in the floor final of the Olympic Games. The event will take place on the 17th.

"We wanted to deliver this flag before Diego embarked. But he became reclusive, and we thought it best not to disturb him. The word "overcoming" sums up the difficulties he faced," says Patrícia Amorim.

In 2008, Diego underwent surgery on his right knee and also contracted dengue fever. He recovered in time and advanced to the Olympic final with the best score of any participant. The flag will be displayed at the Maracanã Stadium during Flamengo's matches, and fans will present it to the gymnast upon his return to Rio de Janeiro.
