In addition to having the largest fan base in the world, Flamengo also carries with it the pioneering spirit of the giants. The club was the first to have an organized fan base at its games, the Charanga Rubro-Negra, and it turns 70 this Thursday (11.10/XNUMX).
To commemorate this historic event, Flamengo's Historical Heritage Department has prepared a simple tribute to the Charanga. Two diplomas will be awarded to Antonio Soares de Azevedo, one of the founders of Charanga, and the current president of the fan club. Another copy of the document will be donated to the Flamengo Museum, immortalizing the event, scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
Former players, especially from the 50s and 60s, are also expected to be present. At that time, Charanga was Flamengo's only organized fan group and it was they who pushed the team to countless victories.
