Fla receives collection of the second greatest scorer in its history
Rubro-negro received a documentary from Dida's brother, which will be exhibited at the Flamengo Museum

Flamengo's greatest idol, Zico, has already made it public that one of the first words he ever uttered was "Dida." And while later generations didn't have or couldn't get to know the Galinho de Quintino idol up close, Flamengo once again recognized the young Alagoan, who found success wearing the number 10 jersey.
On Wednesday (February 16.02), Flamengo representatives visited the home of Edson Santa Rosa, Dida's brother, in Maceió, to receive from him a spectacular documentary about the life of the star player, who shone so brightly in the club's colors. The material, two DVDs with rare photos of Dida's career, will be exhibited at the Flamengo Museum, which is scheduled to open at the end of 2011, leaving the talent of this illustrious Flamengo player for posterity.
In addition to the videos, several photos were also donated to the Flamengo Museum. In return, Flamengo gave Dida's brother a jersey of the current Flamengo number 10, Ronaldinho Gaúcho. But, regardless of the gift, Edson's eyes were already filled with joy at seeing his brother's story once again recognized by Brazil's Most Beloved.
"I'm very grateful to Flamengo for everything. The club supported my brother until his last days. This was very important for our entire family," said Edson, the only one of the 11 siblings still alive.
More photographs, some never before exhibited, will be donated to the Flamengo Museum by Dida's family. Edson, the former Flamengo No. 10's brother, announced that he will catalog them and then send them to those responsible for the Gávea collection.

Edivaldo Alves de Santa Rosa, better known as Dida, was Flamengo's top scorer until Zico surpassed his record (244 goals in 350 games between 1953 and 1966). However, to this day, only "Galinho" has achieved the feat. Interestingly, Dida was Zico's greatest idol, from whom he would eventually inherit the number 10 jersey.
Dida was discovered in Maceió, when the Flamengo volleyball team was watching a match between the Alagoas and Paraíba national teams. The locals were impressed by a player from the Alagoas team who scored three goals in the match, and after a while, a representative from the Gávea team traveled to the Northeast to bring the young talent to Rio.
Dida made his first professional appearance for the Flamengo team, thanks to injuries to Evaristo and Benitez, in a match against Vasco. Flamengo won 2-1, but Dida ended up returning to the youth team. It wasn't until 55 that he became a permanent starter, replacing Evaristo once again. In the final of that year's championship, Flamengo won 4-1, securing their second title. The young Alagoan scored three goals in the match.
In the national team, Dida was number 10, a regular starter until the 58 World Cup. An injury left him on the bench and opened up a spot for the young Edson Arantes do Nascimento, known as Pelé, who would enchant the world with his football.
