The red-and-black board gained an important ally today for the Gávea revitalization project.

During a visit to the CBF headquarters, Flamengo president Marcio Braga presented to Ricardo Teixeira, president of the Brazilian soccer governing body, the project, which includes the construction of a 30-seat stadium, the renovation of the club's headquarters, and the creation of a rowing center of excellence. Also present at the meeting were General Vice President Delair Dumbrosck; Vice President of Soccer Kleber Leite; President of the Deliberative Council Walter D'Agostino; President of the General Assembly Sergio Veiga Brito; and American Dean Bonham, a consultant on the project.

In the nearly two-hour meeting, President Marcio Braga explained the most important points of the red-and-black plan for the revitalization of Gávea and received the unconditional support of Ricardo Teixeira in the fight to realize a long-held dream.

"Flamengo having a stadium in Gávea is very important not only for the club, but also for Rio de Janeiro and Brazilian football. It's a project that has everything to do with Flamengo and will be beneficial to Rio. Flamengo and its fans deserve this achievement," commented Ricardo Teixeira, highlighting an important aspect of the Flamengo project. "The club will not lose any of its assets with the construction of the stadium. We have to hope that this idea comes to fruition."

During the meeting, president Marcio Braga explained that the club will not use any space other than its existing one in Gávea. The total cost of the project, which includes the stadium and the renovation of the headquarters, is estimated at R$175 million.

- This project is the solution to Flamengo's problems, it is the realization of a dream that began in 1932. With fiscal realignment and our sports module, the club will solve all its problems - stated Márcio Braga.
