With the Londrina stage, held this Sunday (7/8) in Paraná, over, the Flamengo Original Reis team is already starting to think about the next challenge. There are four races remaining until the end of the 2011 Formula Truck championship – Buenos Aires, Argentina (4/9); Guaporé, Rio Grande do Sul (9/10); Curitiba, Paraná (6/11); and Brasília, Federal District (4/12) – and expectations are high.

"While the result in Londrina was frustrating because they took away a certain podium from us, on the other hand, we were satisfied since our two trucks had a very good race," said José Maria Reis, owner of the team, explaining that the path is being well laid out.

"Our performance has improved a lot and this shows that our work is moving in the right direction," he said.

In Londrina, Leandro Reis started in 4th place driving Flamengo's #45 truck; he maintained a good, solid race pace and was running in second place when he was thrown off the track in a clumsy maneuver by driver Wellington Cirino. Leandro resumed the race still in 5th, but due to irresponsible behavior by driver Leandro Totti, he suffered a flat tire and retired.

José Maria Reis started from only 18th position, but also had a good race performance and received the checkered flag in 9th place.
