The long-awaited inauguration of the Social Space for Flamengo members will be this Tuesday (May 22.05nd) at 18 pm, at the club's social headquarters. The former Fla-Gávea room underwent a period of renovations, was completely refurbished, and will house a modern social space for members, with computers with internet access, television, newspapers, and magazines.

The new space will be named after President Eduardo Motta, honoring the club's former president (1983). Eduardo Fernando de Mendonça Motta has been a member since 1968 and a Grand Benefactor since 1993. Among other things, he was vice president of football from 79 to 83 and president of the Board of Directors and Grand Benefactors in the 1999/2000 biennium.

According to the vice-president of Fla-Gávea, Cacau Cotta, the goal of the space is to transform the anteroom into a kind of internet café and the main room into an environment suitable for watching Flamengo games, with a reclining sofa, a large screen, in an all-glass setting, facing the Fadel Fadel Aquatic Park.

"The idea for this room came from the members themselves. Our goal is to make Flamengo not only a sports club, but also a social one," commented Cacau.

The creation of the room was conceived by president Patricia Amorim and executed by the vice-president of administration and Fla-Gávea, Cacau Cotta.
