Continuing its active policy of social responsibility, Flamengo is once again fully involved in a campaign to support the Association of Parents and Friends of People with Disabilities (APAE-RIO).
Therefore, Brazil's most beloved red-and-black club is asking fans, whether members or not, who wish to participate to donate non-perishable food items and personal hygiene products. Red-and-black donations will be collected at the club's headquarters, located at 997 Borges de Medeiros Avenue, Lagoa.
Aware that Flamengo's stance toward society is crucial, the club's president doesn't hide her joy at being able to create alternatives that can help the less fortunate.
"Flamengo plays an important role in society, especially in Rio de Janeiro. Whenever we can use the club's image to support serious institutions that genuinely want to do good for others, we will help. The strength and greatness of our fans can be fundamental in this campaign. We will win this one," said Patricia Amorim.
APAE is a philanthropic institution founded in 1954, committed to the lives of people with intellectual disabilities. Its work has led to the empowerment and inclusion of those it serves.
Furthermore, the institution also works in the field of preventing mental disabilities, being a pioneer in the "Heel Prick Test" examination in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
