Flamengo announces sponsorship agreement with Caixa
The partnership was unanimously approved by the Deliberative Council at a meeting on Tuesday night. The contract is for one year.
By Communication - Official Club Website - inFlamengo announced, on Tuesday afternoon (07.05), the proposal of Caixa Econômica Federal to be the club's new sponsor. The proposal was unanimously approved by the Deliberative Council. In a press conference held at the Gávea headquarters, the club's president, Eduardo Bandeira de Mello, and the vice president of Marketing, Luiz Eduardo Baptista (BAP), accompanied Caixa executives in the conversation with journalists.
"Tonight, we will submit a partnership proposal with Caixa to the club's Deliberative Council. If approved, Caixa will have its brand displayed on the front of the Sacred Mantle. This will represent a milestone in Flamengo's history. It is the result of an effort crowned in April, when we obtained all the negative debt certificates," said Eduardo Bandeira de Mello, president of Flamengo, before the Code vote.
Praised by the president for the negotiations with Caixa, Luiz Eduardo Baptista (BAP), vice president of marketing, also emphasized the importance of the partnership. Another point of celebration was the club's renewed credibility.
"Like Caixa, Flamengo is present throughout the country, and this partnership will be a landmark in Brazilian football. Since taking office, our management has made a huge effort to clear the club's reputation and bring this sponsorship here today. We already pay salaries on time, and we want this incoming money to help us maintain our debt clearance certificates. But it's worth mentioning that the money for football comes from our fan membership program, Nação Rubro-Negra," said Luiz Eduardo Baptista, known as Bap, who was complemented by Bandeira de Mello:
"Fans can be sure that the team is already competitive, but to improve even further, joining the Nação Rubro-Negra is essential. As we progress, the team will get better."
The partnership, however, isn't just beneficial for Flamengo. Caixa Econômica Federal, by displaying its brand on the jersey of the club with the largest fan base in the country, also has much to gain. Caixa's executive director of marketing and communications, Clauir Luis Santos, spoke on behalf of the public company.
"It is with great pleasure that Caixa has the prospect of signing a deal with Flamengo and being on the club's shirt for the next 12 months. We want the partnership to be approved. We are optimistic and hope it will become a partnership that lasts for many years," said the director.
