This Tuesday (08.11) marks 30 years since the revenge game, where Flamengo thrashed Botafogo 6-0 at Maracanã. And to honor the stars of this historic feat, the Flamengo Museum prepared a gift for the players who were on the field on that fateful Sunday.

Everyone will receive a personalized DVD broadcast of the historic match, along with a thank you letter. The late former defender Figueiredo will receive the tribute from his family.

Rio de Janeiro, November 08, 2011

It is with great satisfaction that we remember Flamengo's unforgettable 6-0 victory over Botafogo, in the so-called "GAME OF REVENGE", which took place 30 years ago, on November 08, 1981, valid for the 3rd round of the state championship, won by the "Most Beloved".

This incredible red-black victory forced the opposing fans to remove a provocative banner, referring to the then insurmountable black-and-white victory, which occurred in 1972.

The match, valid for the State Championship, is part of the great and victorious saga of 81: Guanabara Cup (12/07); Flamengo 2 x 0 Boca Juniors (farewell to Carpegiani and Zico x Maradona challenge, on 15/09); Libertadores (23/11), State (06/12) and World (13/12).

All these achievements will be forever marked in the hearts and minds of the Red-Black Nation!

Thank you!

Mauro Chaves
Director of the Flamengo Museum
