Flamengo celebrates its 115th anniversary with a party in Gávea
Programming shook up the headquarters of Brazil's Most Beloved, this Monday
By Media Relations - inThe traditional "Alvorada no Remo" (Rowing Dawn) opened the program of events celebrating the 115th anniversary of the founding of the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, on Monday morning (15.11). President Patricia Amorim did the honors and, alongside rower Fabiana Beltrame, raised the flags of Flamengo, Brazil and the city of Rio de Janeiro, to the rhythm of the Charanga Rubro-Negra, the oldest organized fan group in Brazil.
\Still at the club's headquarters, Patricia emphasized how hard she has worked to ensure the club's success in all sports. She also urged all Flamengo fans to join her leadership team, as the ultimate goal is always for Flamengo.
"We've reached month 11 with salaries paid on time, the club in order, work on the Training Center and impressive results in all Olympic sports. We have a lot to celebrate, yes. We hope that our football team can recover emotionally so that we can write a better history in 2011. I'm counting on all of you to move forward together, united, despite all the differences, because Flamengo is bigger than any vanity," said the director, thanking the donation of new boats for Rowing, made by Plínio Serpa Pinto, one of the candidates for president of this three-year period (2010, 2011, 2012).
Mass in GáveaThe celebrations extended to the Gávea headquarters, where a mass was held at the São Judas Tadeu Chapel, led by Father Benedito. The traditional Chocolate Amigo, complete with cake and "Happy Birthday" celebrations, at Boca Maldita further enlivened the crowd. The recently opened Urubinha Space featured a pleasant surprise: the Staumbor Institute Orchestra from Maré, made up of boys and girls from the community.
The football field was a party in itself, with a wide variety of football matches, attended by employees, press, idols and artists from the red and black club.
