A day of celebration and joy at the headquarters of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, which celebrates its 117th anniversary this November 15th. With president Patricia Amorim and the entire Flamengo board, represented by Vice President of Administration and Fla-Gávea, Cacau Cotta, in attendance, the celebration began at 7 a.m. with the traditional Alvorada no Remo (Rowing Dawn). The four-time champion team that gave rise to the club was prompt in attendance. The raising of the flags of Brazil, the city of Rio de Janeiro, and Flamengo, to the sounds of the Charanga Rubro-Negra (Red-Black Charanga), kicked off the celebrations that continued throughout the day.

"Good morning and red-and-black greetings to all present. This is my third year at Alvorada as president. I keep thinking about what Flamengo means in the lives of all of us who live and love this club, full of glories, achievements, struggles, and hardships within the noblest essence that is Flamengo. In each of our hearts, there are dozens of stories of dedication, commitment, and devotion to our club. There's no point trying to understand where all this natural, absolute, and unconditional feeling comes from. The important thing is to live this feeling. Today we celebrate not only Flamengo's 117th anniversary, but also the victories and achievements we've had together, absolutely united," said president Patricia Amorim.

The Flamengo leader also praised all sports, such as rowing, football, basketball, synchronized swimming, water polo, judo and the works that made Flamengo a better club.

"May the next president come. May he continue our four-time champion rowing team, which achieved supremacy on land and sea. We leave a legacy, a training center that hasn't been delivered because we don't want to give it away. To the members, a much better headquarters. The difference between before and after is striking. There's a long way to go, but Gávea is much better attended. Without you, I wouldn't have gotten this far. Every day I wake up thinking about how to pay the salaries, I look each one in the eye with pride, with the dignity everyone deserves. I thank everyone. This is only possible in a popular club, one that delights and annoys all its opponents. Our goal is to win, win, win." 

After a hearty breakfast served on the banks of Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, the birthday celebration of Brazil's Most Beloved continued at the club's headquarters, with the classics "Chocolate Amigo" and "Reco Reco." The excitement took over Boca Maldita, where "Happy Birthday" was sung in the presence of members, fans, and employees. Mass in the Chapel of Saint Jude Thaddeus, the club's patron saint, was celebrated by Father Diácomo João Damasceno, who received the first piece of cake from president Patricia Amorim for Saint Jude to bless.

The party also took over the Fadel Fadel Aquatic Park, the Urubinha Space and the lawns, with several football matches being held.
