Flamengo and Swiss watchmaker Hublot announced late Monday afternoon (May 09.05) the launch of a special line made especially to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the red-black team's World Cup title. The edition of 250 units is already completely sold out, but the possibility of a new batch of Flamengo products is already being studied by the parties.
The second club in the world to have a special Hublot line, behind only Manchester United in England, Flamengo was very proud of the new licensed product.
"This is a historic and special moment for Flamengo. This partnership with a brand of this stature will elevate the Flamengo brand to an international level. This is especially true when it celebrates a winning generation. We've managed to reach a select audience and, as a result, lead across all social classes. I'd like to thank you and I'm honored by this," said Flamengo president Patricia Amorim.
On the other hand, Hublot's representative in Brazil, Jean Claude, is certain he has chosen the right brand to expand his business outside of Europe.
"It's an honor to be here today. We've never sponsored football outside of Europe, which was a huge mistake on our part. After all, what would European football be like without Brazilians? From today on, we can say we're present all over the world," he said.
