A megastore to join the list of the largest in the world – it is the largest in Latin America – and an investment complex that will create a new tourist attraction for the city of Rio de Janeiro, anticipating investments for the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics. This is the structure of Fla Concept, the official store of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, which will be inaugurated this Monday, November 23, in Gávea.
The store is another step in a new era for Flamengo, which Olympikus, the official sports brand, is helping to build. It covers 1.300 square meters, meeting the standards of Europe's biggest clubs, and boasts one major difference: one of the most beautiful views in the world, Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. The opening will be open to special guests and the press and is expected to bring together Flamengo directors, advisors, special guests, and star players.
The space bears the mark of innovation, both in its architecture and layout, as well as in the variety of products offered and customer service. What's more, the store marks the beginning of the Flamengo Museum complex, which is expected to be completed by November 2010.
"It's one of the largest football club stores in the world," celebrates Flamengo president Marcio Braga. "It's the first step in a more ambitious project, which will culminate in the inauguration of the Flamengo Museum, here in Gávea, a dream for all Flamengo fans," says Delair Dumbrosck, acting president.
"We are honored by the opportunity Flamengo has given us. It's great to be able to turn dreams into reality. And this store has always been a dream of this club, of this red-and-black nation of fans. I'm sure this is just another step in this new era. And for us, it's a great honor to be part of this history," says Tullio Formicola Filho, Sports Marketing Director at Olympikus.
Fla Concept also provides a space for comfort and support for fans, with a lounge and TVs for customers to watch important Mengão moments. The windows display the latest official Olympikus uniforms for men, women, and children. The megastore's décor also includes a display of the club's trophies.
"Our goal is to transform this complex into another tourist attraction in the city of Rio de Janeiro, as is the case in other places around the world, such as the Boca Juniors museum in Argentina or the Barcelona museum in Spain," explains the club's Executive Marketing Director, Ricardo Hinrichsen.
The opening of Fla Concept fulfills another commitment made by Olympikus and the club's board when launching the relationship agreement with the brand in July of this year. It's an innovative agreement that goes far beyond simply supplying sports equipment.
"We have been working tirelessly with Olympikus to offer customers a comprehensive mix of officially licensed products," comments Leila Monteiro, Licensing Manager.
