Flamengo has undergone extensive construction and improvements to its headquarters over the past three years. The latest project underway in Gávea, the installation of a new roof over the stands of one of the pools at Fadel Fadel Aquatic Park, is nearing completion and is scheduled for completion in the first month of 2013.

Furthermore, FlaGávea opened an uncovered parking lot for its club members in early December, in an area that had previously been leased to a gas station but had been unused for some time. Just behind this space, the last of Gávea's hoardings were removed last Wednesday by FlaGávea employees, making the headquarters of Brazil's Most Beloved even more beautiful.

"It's a pleasure to see that, after 20 years, we've managed to restore the roof of the pool stands. It was also good to fulfill our promise, which was to leave Gávea without any hoarding. When we arrived here, the headquarters was full of trash and hoardings everywhere. We removed the last one, and the new board will find a revitalized Gávea," said Cacau Cotta, vice president of FlaGávea for the past three years.
